I prefer mono for tops b/c it floats and stretches you don't pull as many trebles with mono. I use 12# on the Chronarch

When you are casting 25 yds further than everyone else in the boat it doesn't hurt either. You might break a few off before you get use to it but I think you will love it.

I second the 10# i use it on my shimano solstice and love it. Very easy to cast an 1/8th oz jig head. Caught some nice reds on it and had no problem
