And ZARA's. the one on pyrtania. The roast beef there is THE BEST SANDWICH EVER!!! Oyster is top notch too. Just sayin. I've been to Darrells and 3 of the 4 listed above. Zara's is the best. If ya'll are in N.O., it is a stop well worth your time. But you are definitely right, Darrell's is the best around here.

that jalapeno mayo is the bomb!!! I think Villager's in Maurice puts up some tight competition... but they can't touch that mayo!

Just make sure you go to the little store on pyrtania. There is a big store further uptown that sells sandwiches too. No comparison

Yeah meaux.....That is the home of the best sandwich I've ever had. My wife and I stayed down the road in a b&b years ago. We stumbled upon this place by pure accident. I took my cousin there who is a life long new orleans area resident, and he agrees......best po-boy in the city.

We eat there every time we fish BL. We plan Houston trips around Darrel's. Hell, we fish the morning - trailer the boat to eat there - and launch again for the afternoon. Darrel's Special rules.

Yes he has, Cancer has taken him. We can all thank him for the Darrels special..... he was good man.

Reggoh 08-21-2013 05:06 PM

They are opening a Darrel's in Jennings in a couple of more months... It will be right across from the old Stine's building. The guys that own The Crawfish Corner are making it a joint venture with a new building to serve both businesses.

RIP to Mr. Darrel... prayers for his family and friends in this time of grief.

Darrell was a good man. I was fortunate enough to stay at his duck camp with him and a few friends, it was always a good time and good food. We actually hunted a separate blind from him so if he was done before us he would always have one hell of a breakfast made. Oh and openig weekend of big ducks was a one heck of a steak with all the trimmings. As you can see from the mounts he was a advad outdoorsmen and loved every bit of it. It's a shame that cancer took him from us but may he rest in peace. Thanks for the memories!

He could cook a mean steak dinner. I had the pleasure of knowing him very well and spending some mornings with him in his goose blind. He will be missed and prayers to his family. Cancer sucks
