All year long b/c trout fishing ain't no good no more on big lake Overfished and trout are scarce. All Biglake is good for anymore is an occasional dink trout, once in a four score big trout, reds, drum, and sheepshead!

Most of my money is spent on fishing, fishing tackle, & boats... The rest is wasted.

Is it legal to fish up next to the weir on the inside of Lambert's?
One of your fellow guide buddies is famous for that.

Yea 250 on both sides, call them in of they are behind the signs

Good guides should never have to fish anywhere around the weirs!!! I can see 3-5 xs a year if need be but you really should never have to fish at weirs to catch fish

99% of the time when you can load the boat with reds at weirs you can catch them just about every where

This picture must have been taken by the same type of person that post their life long lame a** stories on salty cajun and facebook. In all actuality they are the piss poor people with no back bone, live on the gossip and support the hypocrite way of life....so all you lame individuals that feed on peoples misfortunes or even sometimes short lived mistakes..... you all will find yourselves sunken in the very own toilet you sit on.

I'm the person that took this picture, and no I was not fishing illegal. No I don't post my life long lame a** stories here or Facebook! You sound like the type of person to talk big behind a key board but not to anyone's face. if I see someone doing something that they know is illegal and get caught, I will take pictures and post again. If you don't like it, don't look at it! Sorry for the rant but I can't stand someone calling me names and not standing in front of me to back it up!

It's me that called lw&f on those goons. I was behind the signs with customers when one of the boats moved infront of me where my customers were casting and threw his anchor out as far as he could and blocked my customers from casting toward the fish. When I casted about 3 inches from the bow of his boat to let him know that 1. Those signs are there for a reason and 2. He has no class or respect for another angler. After they ignored the complaint by me that's when I called them in. First time I've ever called someone in but this wasn't the first time this situation had happened within the past couple weeks and I was tired of it. Tired of seeing people walk on the bank to stand on top of the weir and keeping undersize fish. Blast me on here could care less. Best of luck to everyone stay safe

Customers often have to be at airports or on the road at certain times and prefer going to the weirs for a quick catch rather than looking for them. Anyone who has fished big lake has fished the weirs. It doesn't make you less of a fisherman, I guide 200 trips a year, yes ill fish the weirs. The very best guides still fish the weirs , yes I can do just fine with out them. People pay to catch fish, it is what it is

Thanks for the clarification.

I have fished the weirs exactly once, with "W".

Just once, if I remember correctly. Late Spring 2012. W and his other buddy that day demonstrated tremendous skill working artificial baits somewhere in the neighborhood of long point. They started on topwater, then shifted to plastics later. They left me in the dust with their technique, putting a number of big specks and redfish in the box. I think W swung by the weirs on the way back to Heberts hoping my meager skills could boat a couple of redfish with a Gulp on a jig head.

I must be more of a live bait/dead shrimp/cut mullet/cracked crab kind of a guy.

W is a great guy and I learned a lot from him about parts of Big Lake that I had never fished before.

Thanks for the information, that's what I thought. I apologize for referring to you as one of his buddies.

So it is a captains license and NOT a guides license.
