A few years ago Sulphite and I duck hunted an island off the ship channel; we were very enthousastic about the evenings hunt. I remember heaving the anchor on the bank like a democrat @ the weirs but I failed to secure anchor rope to cleat. We returned from the hunt to find an anchor rope, NOT connected to my 22ft Bay Boat.

Not many folks can say they've lost a 22ft bay boat...

And yes there are black panthers on that island :rotfl:

I tied my boat up at my frinds camp on the backside of GI just by looping the rope over the piling. Forgot to take the tide into consideration and a couple hours later, I was swimming out to my boat...

Chased a crippled woodie for about 50 yards until I got my foot caught on a root or something. Tripped, filled my waders with cold F'n water and had to find my new shotgun on the bottom of the lake.

Hunted across the road from Dewey Wills WMA but parked on their side of the road. Didn't have their "free" self clearing permit. Didn't hunt on the WMA just parked on their side of the road. $375 ticket x 4. Over 1k in fines because we didn't have a taxpayer supplied piece of paper. F them is all I can say.

I can relate to most...I also hate snakes and spiders, only good ones are dead.

Sport braided fishing line 95% of the time.

I use live bait when needed.

I kill several deer over corn every year, they taste great.

I don't care to fish for trout much anymore.

I can't stand people with no respect on the water.

Sitting at the boat launch with a 6 pack is very entertaining to me.

Outdoor Confessions/Unpopular Opinions

I like to use shrimp sometimes because I like to catch fish almost as much as I like going fishing.
I wear Sperrys Columbia and Costas just about every time I go fishing. (Just about every day actually)
I'm slowly learning how to sport my braid.
I love hunting over a good corn pile, and even more when there's a bran pile right next to it.
Proud owner of a pair of Crocs. And have been for quite a few years.

16" Rat red taste better than a 3lb trout

I've eaten red ear turtles and have also served them to people and told them it's snapping turtle.

I once killed a squirrel with a football.

One time i forgot to take the straps off my boat when I was launching it.

I havent been fishing in 6 months but I'm going this weekend.

I don't fish very much these days.....just doesn't turn my crank like it used too.

I'm just as content staying at the camp and cooking for the guys that are out fishing. I take pride in watching everyone enjoy my cooking.

I love to hunt.... as duck hunting is my favorite, I will hunt any game.

I like to bow hunt but enjoy shooting my bow in the yard just as much.

I will be making my first bow fishing trip ever on Big Lake very soon.

I will fish with live bait... I'm not scared. Will even sit on a five gallon bucket while fishing with live bait.

I once had a few too much to drink during a poker game one night at the camp and woke up to an excruciating pain in my ankle.....only to find out that my "buddies" had strapped a shock collar around my ankle and was having their way with me....

I have set the clock forward two hours at the camp and woke everyone up screaming that we over slept....then just sit back and drink a cup of coffee to watch everyone running around loading their boats and get motors cranked, etc..... then I politely smile and tell them that it's 3am, not 5am...

When I was 18 years old me and few friends pitched in $20 a piece to see who could take home the biggest chic at "Miss Kitties".... I won!! This girl was so big she drove a van and told me she didn't want to lay in the water bed because they are too hard to get out of.....

I spent all of my winnings at K&B buying stuff to get rid of the "crabs"

I can tell you a story about a one legged, midget, Indian stripper in Oklahoma while I was traveling through but then it would have to be moved to the Gill Net.....

I hunt over corn more often than not.
I wear Costas everywhere.
My boat passed up the truck one day on the Henderson levee.
I rarely leave the dock without live bait and use it most of the time.
The Sperry flip flops are the most comfortable pair of flip flops I have ever owned. I’m due for a new pair right now.
I sunk my prodrive two mornings in a row while duck hunting……………………….on the same bank.
I dropped the bottom half of a climbing deer stand.
Columbia shirts are for work and going out. Magellan shirts are for fishing.
The deer archery targets make for an interesting morning when placed 400 yards from a friends deer stand, so do rubber snakes when placed in a box stand.
A 4” pine tree will not hold a 225lb man in a climbing stand when the wind is blowing 20mph.

Just curious how da hell you killed a squirrel with a football? Must have a hell of an arm swamp.

Once I thought I might have a flat on my boat trailer while driving on Big Lake road. Stopped in the middle of the road and jumped out to check. Left my truck running and some how locked the door.... had to break the window.
