😎😎The Balzout mount is the business!!! I can't do the ram mount anymore. Might use my ram mount to support my ipilot.

jlincecum 02-10-2015 08:53 PM

That's because I didn't do it, lol

PaulMyers 02-10-2015 09:15 PM

Josh, do you know who lives in that house in the background?

jlincecum 02-10-2015 09:47 PM

No. But you should since they're your neighbors

PaulMyers 02-10-2015 10:07 PM

That install looks really clean. It helps not having to mount the transducer to the TM. My Elite unit wont talk to the other one so ill have the wires running over the top of the bow to the unit so it wont look quite that clean.

I also used a RAM mount for the mount. I also could not fish wiring from the bow to console fuse box so I ran it to the main battery with a fuse link. Anything I looked up on the web said that was the way to go anyway. This pic was from when I was deciding where to drill. (I hate drilling in my boat). Wanted to make sure that is where I wanted it. Minimum 16 gauge wire. Ran the power wire down one of the empty screw holes in the RAM base.

Fish I'm curious how you ran the TM wiring to the unit. Do you have any pictures of that?

Which units is that that you have on your bow. Is that the hds 5. I'm trying to decide which hds I want to place on my bow. Hds5 r hds7. Gen 1 I'm looking around.

you will always wish you had gone bigger

MarshRat89 02-13-2015 10:29 AM

I would think bigger screen on the bow would be more practical. It would be hard to see on a hds 5 that's at your feet.

That is an Elite 5 GPS/Depth finder that I picked up in the classifieds on this site for a real good deal. My eyes aren't perfect and the 5" is good I can see the depth and the bottom contour.

alphaman 02-13-2015 06:58 PM

Cool. I'm looking at either the hds5 or 7 gen 1. I see a few on ebay.
