I've got to ask who is Capt. Hoop and where is he?

He is a guide that posts reports on here around the empire area.....water went over the levee over there.

Looks like it's gonna get worse as Isaac passes west BR.

Stay safe.

Capt hoop is probably doing fine as of now! The water breeched the east bank levees, no word of them breeching the west bank yet! I'm pretty sure he lives between 2 levees on the west side! If the water finds it way in side of those 2 in which it did during Katrina he will be taking shelter in one of those big cats parked in his front yard! God bless and good luck capt Hoop!

Were you in boat or on bank. I'm not going there by boat but I wouldn't mind going to cast for supper from bank.

I haven't been yet. They should.be running though. Seen some good sized ones in the river poppin the other day. You won't be able to find much water close to the bank. It's a mudflat on the river banks right now. Kinda like delcambre

Salty 08-29-2012 02:38 PM

Man, if you look at the radar you can see why it's so bad in St. John Parish. The SE winds are shovin' water into the parish. Hopefully, the direction will change as the center continues to the west.
