x2 I had one of the first Mossberg ulti mag also. Still have it in fact. Went a whole season whipping out my leatherman to extract the 3.5 shell. I was shooting remingtons. Switched over to some federals my dad had at the end of the season and never had a problem with those. Apparently the Remington brass would expand too much inside the chamber, and the extractor would just pull off of the brass, and then I would hafta go digging. |
Nothing more aggravating than digging out a shell while birds are committing to the deeks...my 870 got nasty towards the end of last season after a day or two of hunting and not cleaning my gun and pretty much sitting in salt marsh a few days in a row...almost lost my mind

I don't always shoot a pump but when I do it's a .870 rem. that's a brush beating son of a gun. |
Had two used 400's and 2 used sbe 2's at jims yesterday...I was there to buy a new super nova...it was time to upgrade but still funsctions flawless...I shouldered the 400 and immediately thought it was garbage...as soon as I shouldered the sbe 2 I knew it was for me...it points like a dream I got it for 989.99 like new hell it pretty much is new...they had a black one for less. And another black vinci I believe for a little more...I justified the extra 300 or so dollars than I was gonna spend on the super nova by trading in a taurus .357 ill never use.

I shot a standard Benelli M1 in competition sporting clays and skeet for 12 years. 5-8000 rounds a year. Replaced one extractor after it wore out, but before I had a failure, still hunt ducks, quail, and grouse with it every year. I guess you could say I like Benelli.
|
Say what you will, benelli is a tried and true workhorse. Lemons happen, man make things and has a bad day every now and again - benelli guns hold their own and have spanned the competition in recent years, and it ain't because if marketing. It's because guys like me that have hunted the hell out if them right next to wingmasters, and other staples in the field, and they have proven their worth.
You buy a benelli and treat it like your daddy taught you, and that gun will knock birds down and be there when you are ready to pass it on. This he said she said bull is for the birds, benelli is for knocking them down.. Nurse on it. |
"Benelli Click" ???????????????????????????
Anyone ever have any issues with this??? how did you fix it? i have a new Franchi that has been doing this to me on the first shell... Having to make sure the chamber is completely closed everytime i shoot.
|
Quote:
well your first problem is you bought a Franchi... talk about a certified POS |

ha sorry, I have had two buddies with franchis and one brought his to the gunsmith so much, he told him that if it breaks one more time to throw it away because he is tired of working on it..
So in my opinion i have heard and seen nothing but problems from this gun.. and from the feel of this gun it seems to be very cheaply made.. Might as well spent the extra $$$ for one of the guns that everyone else has been talking about on here. |

The extractor rotates when it closes chamber. And it doesn't fully rotate sometimes. I'm sure the Franchi is similar. Have you brought to gun shop? |
This is true of benellis and the browning golds
|
I havent brought it to the shop... It has only done this to me a few times before i realized what it was doing. didnt know if there was a tighter spring you can add to it to keep it closed at all times. I have a bad habit of fidling with the chamber when no birds are around so i had to quit doing that 1st. 2nd i was placing the the gun with the chamber down on my shoulder during slow times... guess when i unshouldered it pulled back just enough for the pin not to catch. Didnt know if someone had experience with a gunsmith who solved this problem?!!?!?!?
|
Internet search...someone on a gun forum or hunting forum may have experienced this
|
i guide the `4 days im in from work thats twice a day an i have shot plenty of guns an im a benelli fan all the way just want to try other ones am i bought the browning A5 an so far from what i shot it i am very happy with my choice

I ended up buying the new A400. I told the guy at shooters I wanted to check out the SBE 2 and the A400 with intentions on buying the beretta....He picked up the Benelli first and went to check the chamber and the gun jammed, I held the gun and it didn't feel right to me. Moved onto the Beretta and knew it was gonna be mine. I've done some clay shooting 2 times since I got the gun, shot about 100rds of 2 3/4 1 1/8oz trap shot and have no problems yet. The gun is awesome and swings and shoots very well. With that load I literally feel no recoil at all...I'm sure it will be amplified with a 3.5 mag load for goose hunting or even a 3" #2 load but if I'm feeling almost nothing with a 2 3/4 then I should be plenty happy. I'll be shooting again this week so I plan on trying out some different rounds to see how it handles em. Oh and it also cycled the 2 3/4 as fast as I could pull the trigger. Love my new gun and it came with a pretty nice case also.
|
You will really enjoy it. It's a great gun. Congrats on the new meat stick.
|
great choice. got mine last year and absolutely love it. very little felt recoil even with the 3" loads. I dont hate my shoulder enough to consistently shoot 3.5's but the few I have put threw it felt better than any other gun I've shot.
|
i own Both the Xtrema 2 and the New Xtreme, i hate both of them , i just bought a New Browning Maxus , i bought Automatics and have both Beretta's worked on repeatedly for Jamming, i guess im just the unfortunate customer who has puchased 3000 worth of guns that will only shoot 1 or 2 times , dont count on 3 shots in a row not going to happen very often , i clean them all the time , doesnt help .
|
and illl be glad to sell 1 or both of them . if i would have wanted a single shotgun i would have bought 1 , brought it back to Shooters to trade it for a Browning , they wouldnt even give me a trade number said they had toooo many of them already .
|
Funny you say that, I shot doubles all afternoon Sunday. I would take that up with Beretta instead of Shooters...I'd bet they get that taken care of with the price of these guns.

Lol I thought he was jus being opinionated but I guess he is mad!

Hahah whoa!

Benilli full camo only cost 1600 bucks. My last one the SBE was never cleaned in 2 years and worked perfectly until stolen recently from my home. I didn't waste a minute going out and buying the SBE2. Of course I'm not a butter finger like you who float test his gun once a week. Your blowing smoke out your butt if you want us to believe you sink your gun IN SALT water and put it in the case for 2 weeks!LOL
|
Old SBE and never had a problem. Want a SBE2 but can't justify it
|
To be honest the SBE11 put my SBE to shame. What a difference! Smooth less recoil I really like it. But to the ***** who rob my house and stole 5 guns may you rot in hell!

Im looking at a weatherby sa-08 20 gauge. Seems to get great reviews and is under $600. Also considering the franchi

Bruhs ima tell you I swear by my ole 20ga single shot. Lightweight? Oh yeah! It weighs 3/10 a pound less than all my other guns combined. Reliable? You bet your azz. Goes bang everytime you take your thumb off the hammer. Tough? Dude dont get me started on that. I dont even carry it with me. I put it in my blind the day after I got it and its been there every since. When the blind floods dont sweat it. Thats duck huntin and my gun can take it. Even when the barrel is full of mud it still works. Them pellets gona get that mud out. Infact dry mud is the best nontoxic shot there is.
PS... I no longer duck hunt so the gun is for sale. PM if interested. Still has the factory gun oil on it. You'll be proud to have it on your next hunt....:grinpimp::grinpimp::grinpimp: |
