This is our newest child, a 2013 American Aluminum 26. Powered by twin Yamaha 300 V6 Four Strokes. Custom Everything, loaded with electronics.

28'6" Nose to Transom
31' LOA
9'2" Beam

Garmin 8212 Touch Screen
Fusion/JL Audio
iPilot Trolling motor

We love her, she was delivered about 3 weeks ago, and haven't been able to get off of it yet.

weedeater 09-06-2013 01:09 PM

Baker, that boat is insane. How fast will that thing move

Bakermanjr 09-06-2013 01:17 PM

weedeater, we were expecting 70+ propped right, so far, loaded with 6 grown men, full of fuel (170 gallons), we have seen 68mph, she rides well, and drives like a sports car, even at that speed. I haven't been able to get people off of her yet, to really open her up light, but I'm thinking in the neighborhood of 72-74 mph extremely light.

toodeep 09-06-2013 01:51 PM

Wow, whats deadrise at transom?

Bakermanjr 09-06-2013 03:15 PM

20* deadrise, boat weighs in about 7000# loaded with fuel, gets about 2.3 MPG fishing ready, doing 3500 RPM, and 43 MPH. At WOT she'll hit 68, and still get 1.7 MPG.

Very Nice rig!!! I think I saw yall when yall were running her 3 weeks ago. I was just launching my boat with my son at the quintana, and there were about 4 guys in the boat, and they were going over the ipilot. Then we were fishing in the cove, and saw this blue streak running around in the bay. If this is the boat, it sure is fast.

Thought about starting a new thread, might as well keep contributing here....Post your duck boats too fellas!!

Made this one last fall, 12ft long 32" wide, floats in an inch of water empty and will pole through 3" loaded with dog, gun, blind bag and decoys. I need to lighten it up a bit but is doing good for now, I also slap a 2.5hp longtail on it.

1848 Southfork with a tunnel hull. Still working the bugs out. It "being an stock 2004 Merc 40" turns around 5000-5100 rpms and runs around the 28 mph mark. Still have some wiring to finalize I wanted to make sure everything was like I wanted it. I have LEDs installed on the inside to see inside the boat at night. Weedeater, no plans just worked with plywood and a small portion of an old boat, I'd like to make a larger version one day.
Merc did you ever paint or seal your floor? If not you may want to, the chemicals in treated plywood will create tiny little pinholes in your boat over time. Just a useful fact for you aluminum boat guys.

No I keep forgetting. But thanks for reminding me.

weedeater 09-06-2013 10:41 PM

Bdub, if made bigger I bet that would make a sweet poling skiff with a 15-25hp on it

Bdub 09-06-2013 11:02 PM

Yea that's what I would shoot for. I've learned boat building is really for the joy of it, its a lot more sensible to spend a couple grand on a new hull for someone like me who likes to get the most out of free time. I think I may try to get an IPB 16" for my marsh rig next year. I need to add a rubrail and cut some bracing out from under the floor and re-glass it to lighten it up, but it works as is so I may never get around to that haha.

Stines sells "Duck skiff paint" by the gallon for around 20$ its what I used for my green base on that duck boat. It would work pretty good for your floor.

1fastmerc 09-06-2013 11:06 PM

Does it require a primer?

Bdub 09-06-2013 11:13 PM

Its oil based so I'm not 100% sure, I used epoxy resin and no primer on top and it is holding up well except for some spots on the bottom where my bare wood bunks rubbed on the trailer. I think if you put it on bare plywood it would soak in pretty good and not be necessary. I'm not as educated with oil-based and latex paints as I am other paint systems. The person at the paint desk could tell you a very clear answer.

PureBay2200, I'd be happy to post a little more info...

She is a 2013 American Aluminum, built by Alex Gravois out of Thibodeaux, LA

Fitted with twin 300 Four Stroke Yamahas
Garmin 8212 Glass Helm Touchscreen, Black Box CHIRP Sounder, everything runs to the screen, motor gauges, music, radar, ect

iPilot Trolling motor
6 AGM batteries, all run off of a single shore power charger
Fusion i700 stereo
4x JL 6.6 Speakers
JL 150x4 Amp
Garmin VHF
EPIRB
All LED lighting throughout, livewells, all compartments, under gunnel, spreader lights, and navigation lights

Custom made T-Top from Birdsall Marine
Custom trailer from SportTrail

We opted for the best of everything we could find, hoping that this boat would be a lifetime purchase for us. It will be used 60% Specks and reds, 40% snapper/ling. Hybrid of sorts. We couldn't be happier.
