Running wide open was one of the break in procedures for my motor.
I had to run at different RPM's for 5 minutes each, for 10 hours.
I had to run wide open for several cycles.
I didn't like to, but the dealer said it was how it was supposed to be done.
After that 10 hours, they said to run it how I wanted. It don't matter no mo.

On our jet ski's we ran, at certain RPMs for "X" amount of time. Just like you stated above.

Chris has been selling these boats and motors for years so Im 100% sure he knows what he is doing..... Thats why he took it out today to break in and set Jackplate with prop

Ray 11-18-2009 09:09 PM

My dealer also told me what they got for a top end also.
They ran it before selling it, just to make sure nothing was wrong with
the boat or motor.

I know it's not a boat motor but when I bought my 4wheeler a couple of years ago the dealer told me to break it in like I'm gonna drive it, that that's the best way...

LaAngler 11-18-2009 10:58 PM

if it's faster than a 24 HO with a 250 it runs 60 plus easy

huntin fool 11-18-2009 11:02 PM

With Waltrip driving, he'll max it out at 30 mph....

Personally, i like how rosska drives his triton...2 speeds, Dead stop or Wide open!!!

Will"E"Fish 11-18-2009 11:11 PM

W seem's like you never get brake on the B.S. O well if they ragging you they're leaving some one else alone. Ithought i saw a new black hull rig with a merc around 12:30 close to Texaco cut. Didn't pay it much mind cause I was heading for the south end.
