Well, that piece of horse dung is still alive. I said I wouldn't pass judgement on someone I don't know, and I have never met this boy. But, I know a piece of crap when I see one, and he fits the bill. This guy has never been to my sisters home, and was never in the baby's life until the last few months when he started coming around to visit from what I have been told. The mom (my sister's stepdaughter) has been taking night classes to get certified as a dental hygenist, and she works in a dental office during the day. The dad is apparently a cook at a local Chili's resturant and they have had a on again-off again relationship.
Anyway, I had to explain the initial report from Texas DPS to my sister and her husband since they did not understand what all the abbreviations were and they had several questions. The dad has been served an arrest warrant in the hospital already as he had blood alcohol level of 1.7 and they are waiting for other "tox" test to come back. It seems that their is reason for the DPS to suspect this fine man may have other things in his system. So that is what I know for now, and as my sister put it - "he murdered our baby girl". They estimated his speed in excess of 80mph down a gravel road, when he lost control and left the roadway. The car hit several small trees before coming to rest against a tree that finally stopped it.
I have only met the little baby a few times, but she was adorable. My sister is a RN in a large hospital ER outside of Dallas and her husband owns a landscaping business. They live in a upscale neighborhood and were helping the mom get her life together and allowing her and Lucy to live with them while she was in school. As you can imagine, they are devastated.
