Caught on fire. Apparently red wire was HOT afterall. Scorched that solenoid. Oh well no winch now.

I was typing when I read your post. Yes the red wire is hot and the blue and yellow are also sometimes. the contactor just switches polarities on blue and yellow to make it go in forward and reverse

Yeah. It still works. Touched a wire from hot battery to yellow on the winch itself and it sucked the rope in touched it to blue and it came out. The solenoid was smoking like catdaddy with a jurnt

well then just order the one on amazon and hopefully it was that and not your switch. good luck. and stay out of the really deep holes.lol
