The car is now on a rotisserie for blasting the bottom welding it all out and spraying on a bed liner over the entire bottom. When it goes back on the ground it will hopefully be on its own wheels and heading to paint.

That suckers gonna be awesome. When it's finished, it's gonna be like the reverse of the old Red Solvine song Teddy Bear. Saltycajun members lined up for three city blocks waiting for a turn to ride!

Here's a little progress. We've been so busy and, short-staffed that the Stang got put on the back burner but, things are coming around now. I had a guy come and wet blast the bottom of the car. The yellowish looking stuff is an acid based primer to lock out any potential for corrosion. Now, it's on to seam sealing and, spray-in bedliner on the bottom of the car.

Looks to be something special !
I had a 66' that was semi restored for a daily driver. My family owns Don's Body Shop in Marksville. They helped me tremendously to make it happen. Being hard headed and thinking I needed different toys I ended up selling it like a fool. Till this day I'm still disappointed in myself. Hope the final assembly goes well. I'm excited to see the end result ! |
Thanks guy's for the comments and encouragement. Corey is doing a great job on the car. If anyone is ever in the Gonzales area you should drop in and see it. If I know Corey he'd love to show it off and visit.

Time for some updates.
With this big engine I wanted to make sure there where no cooling issues soooo I bought an aluminum radiator made to fit a 69 Mustang. Of course it was much bigger and required modification to fit. I think this should provide plenty of cooling. ;) |

Since it gets so hot here in Louisiana I also want plenty of cooling inside the car. Her is the AC condensor installed. More custom mounts needed for this as well.

I bought all my AC from Restomod Air. All of their systems are custom which of course requires custom installation. I wanted unit as high up under the dash as possible and it needed tone off of the firewall to allow room for the hoses and wiring to pass.
