I didn't know there were any other reasons |
STAR is just another CCA scam. Seems to me that an organization that claims to be an advocate for concervation shouldn't sponsor an event that encourages more fishing. There's enough people on the water as it is, no need to increase that with visions of sugar plums. Just a way to generate funds to lobby for more regulations. If I catch a tagged redfish, I'll grill it and use the tag to pick my teeth.

certaily a troll, right? :rotfl: |
A troll as in a big scary creature under a bridge? Or a troll as in someone looking to provoke an argument by posting a preposterous response on a message board? I've lived under a bridge before but I was simply voicing my opinion. Sorry. I bet the first thing that pops in your head when you see a parking lot full of cars on a Tuesday is "what this place needs is a few more boats". A troll, please. I wouldn't know what you were talking about if I hadn't have heard my little sister say it.

If this is the best argument for a boycott of cca then I think cca will be just fine. (I bet he's a Landrieu supporter!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free |

[QUOTE=The shop in Broussard;702446]This is exactly the type of nonsense that I was referring to. This clown is obviously incapable of throwing a cast net or running a trot line or baiting his own hook, but he has beef with cca b/c he doesn't like them encouraging more people to go fishing. He says we don't need any more boats on the water.
If this is the best argument for a boycott of cca then I think cca will be just fine. (I bet he's a Landrieu supporter!) apparently you must have only read what you want to see. do some more reading, even on this site. look into the profits vs what they do for us. how about how they dont voice our conservation opinions when they have the power to. how about grouping with big money and politics. there was a time when they (CCA) meant nothing but good for the sportsman. the year isnt 1999 and they arent looking to be a voice with all our money. YES, conservation would have a lot to do with less people fishing... take a look at florida.. theres places where they thought the snapper population was low, so they put a 35 year ban on fishing them!! not everything is black and white and you cant believe what will drost writes about himself for the public to read. i feel like it hit a lot of random topics. oh yea, oysters, weirs, shrimp, lower speck limits, braid. nailed it |
STAR money

Dont forget the main rule of contests. If you want it you will not win it. Seems to me kinda like the lottery, a tax on the poor...
Like all of the other politicians, they started out with good intentions but got to the capital and people started throwing money at them. Greed took over. Now they throw out an artificial reef for "public relations" and say "look what we are doing." They have been quiet on the snapper regs, tripletail, and took a back seat while the obummer admin wiped out all of the platforms in the gulf that had the only new coral growth in the WORLD. Good luck if you entered...good eating if you didn't... |
