Such a sad sad ordeal. I wont be surprised if they turn up some more murders on him. Its shame that if he gets the death penalty it will be a peaceful death. Wish we still had the firing squad.....

Top Dawg 08-09-2012 08:32 PM

What's bad is they probably cut a deal with him to show them the body to not give him the death penalty.

DUCKGOGETTER 08-10-2012 07:37 AM

This is so sad, and i hope they end the sob's life soon so he can burn in hell for what he's done to his victims.

According to KATC BSL plead guilty for both murders.

Brandon pleads guilty to both murders in exchange for life in prison. Guess it was a plea deal after all

Brandon Scott Lavergne pleads guilty to murdering Lisa Pate and Mickey Shunick in exchange for life in prison. Lavergne was required to show police where Mickey Shunick's body was buried and physically recreate the actions on May 19. Lavergne signed of statements the prosecution presented to the court. Those statements say Lavergne followed Shunick down St. Landry Street in his truck. He intentionally hit her bike and persuaded her into his vehicle. She was able to mace him, grab his knife, and stab him several times, giving him what were described as "life-threatening cuts." He grabbed the knife back and stabbed Shunick four times until she fell over. At this point, Lavergne thought she was dead. However, when Lavergne brought Shunick to a seclude cane field in Acadia Parish, she jumped up and regained control of knife. Shunick stabbed him in the chest. That's when Lavergne grabbed a semi-automatic handgun and shot Shunick in the head, killing her instantly.

The fact that our justice system cuts deals with these criminals just makes me irate. They threaten him with the death penalty if he doesn't plead guilty. So he pleads guilty and gets life. Now we have to pay for this piece of trash the rest of our lives. Why is he still breathing??? He needs a tall tree and a short rope. In the middle of town square.

i couldn't agree more these women had their lives taken away by this low life piece of ****, and the familes have to deal with the losses. Now the tax payers pay for him to live the rest of his life behind bars with free room and board, 3 meals a day and ect. I really hope someone in prinson that has nothing to lose takes care of his ***, and i don't mean in that way. I hope he gets shanked to death for a pack of smokes.

SaltERedneck 08-17-2012 12:18 PM

It's looking like he might be a suspect in the disapperance of that girl from Texas. If he did have anything to do with that I hope we send his @$$ to Texas. They're not affraid to use the death penalty!

BayBolt23 08-17-2012 01:00 PM

hayden1414337 08-17-2012 02:16 PM

He is sick I hope some guy makes him his &*&6% in jail before they cake him.god bless the shunick family

gasdad 08-17-2012 03:02 PM

God Bless the Shunnick family for what they have been through. It's amazing to me has these sociopaths have no conscience when taking another human's life but when there is a possibility that they are going to be on the receiving end of a death sentence, they are puss--es. Wish Mickey's dad should have the right to give Brandon the same treatment that was given to his daughter.

nimbus73 08-17-2012 05:00 PM

The more and more I read and hear about heinous crimes such as this and like the Sheriff's deputies shootings in Laplace yesterday, I become more and more a believer in vigilante justice. I may be wrong for thinking that way, but there is no sense in public taxes paying to support these scum bags in prison for the rest of their lives.:pissed:

Duck Butter 08-17-2012 05:22 PM

I could not imagine the grief they went through. They had to sit in the courtroom today and listen to what went down. She was a very tough girl, and her whole life ahead of her, and he was a psycopath, very very sad. Maybe they will link him to other unsolved cases and get something different than life in prison

"W" 08-17-2012 05:51 PM

Get some rope
