Yeah I try to be respectful to hunters and hey if your in the spot I want to hunt I will go find another spot. It's respect and common courtesy and a lot of people lack that. I'm going to post boat discriptions on here everytime I hunt if someone messes with my boat so we can know who it is

Hunting the river and hunting the marshes is a whole different ball game..
River, if there's already a blind there, don't set up across the bay from them... Don't hunt others blind, you can complain all day that it is public land, but its a respect thing. Your boat won't get tampered with on the river, being your boat is with you most of the time.

You won't kill near the birds as in the marsh, but its something.
I'll be out and about tomorrow morning on the river. Good luck

What river? Have a spot picked out in lake author and camping for the end of the week to try it out. Good luck and let us know what you kill. Gotta have pics or it didn't happen. Lol

Sabine got ALOT of money after Rita and Ike and the stimulus. I don't know what they wasted it on, but it was not used to improve acess for users. One of the reasons Sabine is so crowded now is because they never cleared out the center line canal after Rita plugged it up, so everybody is piled up in the front or making the 1hr boat ride into the back from black bayou. And don't even get me going about the cast netting ban, I'm still fired up about that one. LOL

Top Dawg 11-21-2012 04:55 PM

They will never open central canal either. Even if they had the money.

If you cared enough about the local NWR's you would have went to the meetings about them following Rita and you would know why central was left the way it was. Central canal was plugged and they decided to leave it that way to cut off the hwy of saltwater that runs between big lake and sabine lake. Also, since they lost so much marsh, central was the only place they gained marsh. They "wasted" all the money on helicopters, airboats and barges to get as many 18 wheelers, fuel tanks, various hazardous material tanks, houses, refrigerators, freezers cars, trucks, coffins......etc, out of Sabine. And, if you are fired up about the cast netting you can thank all the trashy ba$stards that trashed the place day in and day out! Don't blame the feds one bit for shutting it down.

Pat Babaz 11-22-2012 10:21 AM

Thanks for the explanation on why central was left plugged, that does make some sense. As far as wasting money, the Hog was closed for a long time after Ike due to damaged docks and I was told by a federal game warden that they had recieved the money to fix them, but the stimulus had just passed and they were waiting on that money to fix it because those docks were one of Obama's shovel ready projects he was touting, to me thats double dipping. As far as the cast netting, I do blame the trashy people, but I also think the game wardens did not even try to write littering tickets and enforce the law. They took the easy way out and just shut it down for everyone over a few bad apples.
