He even went over some other welds that werent to pretty and made sure every one was done correctly. I must say it was a great job on the repair. He talked about a new boat model that he should be finished with next week. Its a 15 1/2 x 53. He said he is putting a very hot merc on it (80hp) and expects speeds in the 60's. It may be something to look at if anyone is in the market for a new hull.

did he deliver it to you? if so, that is jam up.

Anxious to see how the new 15'6" long 53" wide bottom Edge will run. We know that a 16' boat of the same width as a comparable 15' boat is about 3 mph slower. Interesting to see the difference if any, with a 6"longer boat.
I know one thing, a straight bottom with the Edge bottom will run. And it will turn
So yes, all new Edge's will be built with straight bottoms as per Tim. Just let me know if you want a demo ride in a 556 Edge with an old 4 stroke hung on the back.

Do you know what the beam will be on the new boat? What is the beam on your 556?

When it warms up a bit I'm going to have to take you up on that demo ride offer.

When I measured the 550 I had, it was 15'-4" down the middle. Have you measured your 556 length?

CajunChristian 01-31-2013 04:20 PM

My boat is 15'2" from transom to bow.

What motor?

AARON5082 02-02-2013 10:32 AM

40 tohatsu tldi. My hull has a hook in it. The hulls with a straight bottom are a few mph faster. Lake area ran a 1550 with the same motor and it gps 52mph.
