1st pic is the day after the bite.
2nd pic is before he lanced it
3rd pic is of packing
4th pic is after packing is taken out.

I'll take another pic here in a few minutes and let you see what it looks like now. This happened at my fire station while I was underneath one of the trucks trying to find a water leak. Never felt it bite me, just seen it crawling down my arm and smacked it so hard there were welts (SP?) where my fingers hit my arm.

You need to go back and get it cleaned out again! A recluse bite might require a few trips back to doctor. The poison is a flesh killing toxin and it keeps on working for a while.
BTW check your bunker gear ! dark , warm and quiet place for them to hole up in.
Not a bad idea to hit the inside of your gear w/ some insecticide every now and then.

About 15 years ago, I got bitten by something, probably outside at home.....never saw or felt anything.

After about the 3 day, my "bite" looked about twice as bad as your second picture and I went to the Doctor. After he looked at it, he said I had 2 choices. 1) check into the hospital for treatment.....or....2) They could give me IV antibotic treatments twice a day for a week. Second choice sounded better.

After about the 3 day, my leg still hurt like he!! but started to look a little better. By the seventh day, the hurting had almost stopped and the swelling was mostly gone.

I still went to work each day, but tried to keep my leg elevated to keep the swelling from hurting. Walking [which I had to do some every few hours] was a bitc!.

I was looking under the tanker firetruck for a leak and thats when I felt/seen him on my arm. I hit him so hard I had finger welts on my arm for the rest of the day. Dr said it is supposed to pu$$ up for a few days. The cut will turn into a hole until the anti-biotics kill off the poison.

Damn bro take care of that! My podna got bit by one and and he didn't keep up with it. Ended up having to take a big chunk of skin off his arm where he was bit and do a skin graph.

I keep new bandages on it every 4-8 hrs. Dr said 8-12.....

I got bit on the wrist and went to the e.r. waited five hoirs and even after raising heck ended up leaving. 24 hours later my hand swole up so bad I couldnt even see my knuckles. Went back to the e.r and they lanced it. Packed a piece about 12" long in it. Worst thing ever. Hurt bad. And packing came out a few hoirs later. Had to repack it myself. Soaked it in peroxide and found something to bite down on.... I kill every spider I see now

That looks nasty. Not having had to worry about these spiders before moving here, what does the lancing and packing do? And do all recluse bites have the same effect?

I have a musician friend in Texas that is paralyzed from the waist down in a wheel chair from a brown recluse bite on his lower back years ago. Piano player. Got into his spinal cord. Their bite will ROT your flesh.

lancing cuts it open so they can drain it and get most of the infection out. packing keeps it draining and from healing so more infection drains out.

Recluse bites affect each person differently. there are some medical post that explain why, but w/o a medical degree they are a bit hard to understand. The toxin is a flesh killing poison. so what may end up as a quarter size hole on one person could end up the size of a dollar bill on someone w/ a weakened immune system.
There is a product available at pest stop here in B.R. called ,
Suspend s c that does a great job of getting rid of all types of spiders.
