Any body know what kind of fish this is??? Looked like something in the Croaker/Drum family

W not sure the name but it sure looks like one you would catch "CROAKER SOAKING":confused:....Not sure what it is....Plan on going to BL tomorrow.

that is a male bull croaker. they are known for swallowing hooks that are baited with dead shrimp. i always knew you were a croaker soaker. but i won't tell no one.

Southern Kingfish - AKA: Channel Mullet, Black Mullet, etc... I know people that swear the it is the best tasting fish in the water. It is the "Creature Feature" in LA Sportsman magazine this month, but I know that due to all the animosity, none of you read the magazine anymore...or none of you admit to it.

it was caught on a sand eel. i thought it was a channel mullet but the spots threw me off

Looks like a Whiting to me.

Caught that black drum on the eel jr. W. I dunno who throws swimp more. U or jason ???

If you ever catch me with Shrimp or Croaker in my boat... I will give it to ya!! I used Live mullet twice this year ... first time in 15years.....:eek:

And live shrimp under the lights. :p

I fillet everything. If it ain't bloody or oily, I fry dat thing and eat it.

John caught one yesterday...............little whiskers on bottom lip, mouth way down on bottom of head........Channel Mullet............part of the drum family..........People call it Whiting, but they are inaccurate...........They taste GOOD GOOD......Laters.........
