I would do the same thing. But I might wait till $40 or lower.
It ain't gonna stop dropping anytime soon.
And BP is a big big company. They and many others have hit rock bottom and bounced back in a year or two.
I buy my companies stock at $50 and sell at $55. I have made a bundle in the past. This year ain't did so good.
When the banks fell and obammer gave them $900B, they bounced back up. Some people who got in at the bottom made a killing.

BP is trading at $37.34 right now...i would buy if our geopolitical atmosphere was stable, but i cant bring myself to do it. Remember when GM got into trouble? Obama told the CEO to resign. There is no telling what he will do to BP.

About all he could do is tax and regulate them until they decide to pull out of US waters

I'm sure he'd like to seize and nationalize, almost like PEMEX, Aramco, or Gail India.

BP is not a US company. He cannot regulate just one company and not the rest of them.
He would have to up everyone's taxes and royalties, and we would have to pay for that at the pump.

But he can penalize and fine BP for the mess they got into. Their actions on the Horizon were not so legal and ethical.

BP is not going nowhere.....Only ones getting hurt are the convenience stores who just sale BP gas....it has nothing to do with them...So they boycott BP Gas and kill the small stores..... but like the saying goes.... NEW YORK CITY

Good luck with BP stock. Best case scenario is that they get purchased or declare bankruptcy and re-structure to eliminate the litigation burden (create an entity to hold the debt obligation).

If you want to play the game try a stock like RIG (transocean). Very volatile which is great for trading...

The talk this afternnon on CNBC was that the BP stock could go even lower.

The stock is down a little over 50 % since Apr. 20.

Gottcha, I have a ton of exxon stock and the highest it got was around $93. Either way I bought some BP also. I have a good feeling it will come back around. For the most part you can't go wrong with Energy Stocks.

I agree.....still unsure of impact of legal liabilities with this spill. And at such a reduced stock price, it becomes extremely vunerable for a takeover.

Don't tell me I didn't say so...oil is the most powerful thing in the world!!!! BP is 2nd major...

i heard on walton and johnson this morning that bp stockholders are suing bp (don't know how this is possible) they said they was missled by the mangement. they were told not to sell because they were equiped to handle this. and now there screwed
