70 mph blackjack
weird that this hull is lucky to see 60 with a 250 but will run 70 with a 300

when i was looking at buying a blackjack they had one with a 300 verado , he claimed 68-70 mph

I call BS..... Maybe 60s to mid 60s but not 70

70 is stretching it on that boat. Heck, Chris told me 65 on the Haynie with a 225 Prosx and that is a much lighter boat. |
That 300 verado is under rated. They put out more than 300hp if you run them on 93 or higher octane gas. Im sure with the right prop and a light load 70mph is possible.
|
If you dont care about a warranty you can get 450+ hp out of the verado.

i wasn't doubting the 70, look at the picture he's doing 69.5 on gps, and claiming 72 in the next shot

I want one!
|
My 22' Triton runs 64mph loaded. 2300 pound hull but my motor is putting out around 280hp. I can see that boat doing 70mph but not if it was loaded out to fish. I would bet money in the pic of him running that boat has 1/4 tank of gas and nothing else in the boat. Not even trolling motor batteries.
|
what kind of gps is that? That thing looks sweet!
|
Garmin
|
Is the Verado a good motor? I don't know anyone with one, and I haven't really heard too much about them.
|
I've ridden on a couple boats with them. Seems to be great motor! Think they finally got all the kinks out of them. 1st & 2nd generation verados weren't that great.
|
Montauk in 3.....2......1....
|
it's absolutely possible but not sure it is consistently possible.
Right conditions, right prop, right load, right motor height, right amount of trim, right everything..... That is just too much for me to think about as a simpleton. I just want to enjoy a day a fishing these days. |

My bluewave ran 65 with 1/8 tank of gas, Only trollin motor and 3 batteries. 2 people. Flat calm on the causeway.
Yammy 225 4 stroke, 8 inch bobs. The jackplate gave me another 4 mph. I would def believe a 300 verado would run 70 mph with the lightest of loads. |

Thats awesome, I bet you liked seeing those numbers on the gps. :) |

I got a few pics somewhere. |
I believe that George Haydel at Metro has one (Black with Grey deck) with a 300 Vrat that is running high 60s to 70...

he does |
Weight distribution is a wonderful thing. Boat buyers are misinformed alot by dealers. You go in and they tell you a boat does 60 and when you get out its 10mph slower. The numbers are on an empty boat. When you go and demo a boat bring some friends and see what it does when shopping. 70 is possible with that boat setup right. jack plates and a worked prop are wonderful things!

a friend just got a new blackjack with the new v-sho vmax yammy 250. His hit 68.....
|
that new v-sho is bad ash!

I had the opportunity to fish 4 people in Bruce's BlackJack and with the 250 SHO we were able to hit 58 with 4 people and all of our gear. I have one on order and it should be delivered in about 2 weeks.

Nice, you are gonna enjoy that boat.... That new SHO will put the OPTI-OBAMA out of buisness..... |
Yeah that SHO is fine. I can't wait for it to hurry and get here. I am boatless for the first time in 26 yrs and I don't like it. It is great that I sold my old Kenner but not that I have to spend two weeks boatless. Withdrawal is setting in.

You might just want the 300 but I can assure you it is not needed. The boat screams with 250 SHO. 58mph with 4 people and fishing gear and Bruce got it to 65mph alone. But then again it is like I told that game warden when he checked me duck hunting and asked why I was shooting 3 1/2 inch shells at them ducks. My response," Cause they don't make 4 inch shells". Anyway, my boat should be in next week and I can't wait!
