There is a gas pump, on the water, at Bridge City Seafood, about 1/2 mile north of the ICW on Cow Bayou. Go North till you see a bridge and it is on the right. Bestest hamburgers in Texas too.
Cow Bayou is just a couple miles West of Orange, North of the ICW, just before you hit the Sabine Lake. |
Josh must have a Voodoo hex. 3 tournament outings in a row with the following results:
Nice job guys and nice fish Fool!! |

I still don't see why you have to run to Orange 4 times in a day.
|
You must consider the object of the conversation.

W, Fool.... it was nice meeting yall yesterday at the weigh in. Glad yall came over and fished. Congrats on the Red.
W .. yes lots of trout are caught on Sabine, why do us Texans fish on Big lake ? So we can fish different patterns and catch fish to eat. Why kill ours when we can drive a little way and kill yalls? LOL Freddy <')))>{ |

I broke my drive shaft off in my lower unit early in the the week so I had to fish my dads boat again. Seems there is lots off bad luck to go around. All our fish died on us so we did not get the .2 pounds for any of our fish. Had a great time and look forward to next year.

did you run from the launch, back to big lake, back to the launch and back to big lake also ?? |
nah he trailored
|
I think W likes to race barges. That's why he made 4 trips a day.
|
At the speeds he can run, going by boat is probqably faster
|
My dad's boat does 28mph so we trailored. If I would have had my boat I would have launched in Orange and ran to Big Lake.

And we love ramping floating trees, and tearing the bottom of the boat and tearing up the skegs too at 4:45 a.m? :*****: |

from the website
This past Saturday May 15th the Cabela's Speckled Trout USA Tournament Trail held a 2-day event at the City of Orange Boat Ramp in Orange, Texas where anglers from as far away as New Hampshire competed for a large payback in the first event of the year. Taking first place Brian Frederick of Lumberton, Texas and Gary McElduff of Nederland, Texas with a total weight of 33.47 pounds and earning $3,500.00. Brian and Gary were fishing south of Sabine Lake on Day 1 and moved towards the north of Sabine on day 2. The magic colors were dark grey and chrome with a green back. The team said fishing was tough and that they caught 17 fish during the event. They also weighed in all 10 fish alive for a total of a 2lb bonus for the two days helping them win the event by nearly 5lbs! In second place was the Orange, Texas team of Adam Jaynes and Aaron Hommel weighing in 28.58 pounds and earning $2,000.00. Adam and Aaron were fishing the south end of Sabine Lake catching over 100 fish on day 2 of the competition, jumping them from 6th place on day 1 to 2nd place at the end of day 2. Third place went to Tom Selman of Groves, Texas and James Sparrow of Port Neches, Texas with a weight of 28.39 and earning $1,000.00. Tom and James were fishing near LNG and was the only team to weigh in a fish over 25 inches earning them big Trout of the event honors and receiving a $500.00 Cabela's gift certificate. Taking big Redfish of the event was the team of Jeremy Waltrip of Jennings, Louisiana and Josh Lincecum of Sulphur, Louisiana with a 8.65 pound Redfish. The team caught the big redfish on the lower end of Big Lake on a Jerk Jr. The big Redfish was actually caught by the third partner of the team 12 year old Braydon Wood who landed the big Redfish. The team earned $500.00 for big Redfish of the event. TOP 10 1 Frederick - McElduff 33.47 2 Jaynes - Hommel 28.58 3 Selman - Sparrow - Selman 28.39 Big Trout 6.91 4 Hernadez - Carlson 28.13 5 Ellender - Ellender 27.60 6 Trahan - Driscoll 25.72 7 Waltrip - Lincecum - Wood 25.68 Big Redfish 8.65 8 Solari - Lanza 23.42 9 Davis - Denmon 21.70 10 Bandy - Little 12.46 "We want to thank the Orange Chapter of the CCA for being on hand as well as the City of Orange and the Orange CVB for having us", said Tournament Director Tanner Tabor. "Four states were represented (Texas, Louisiana, Michigan, and New Hampshire). Anglers have been dealing with awful conditions the past several weeks with high winds making it impossible to stay on fish consistently, and rains hammered the area on Day 1 of the competition but moved out and created a hot but pleasant day 2 as temps reached the low 90's", said Tabor. For more information on the area call: 800-528-4906 or visit their website at:www.orangetexas.org. apparently im 12 now! lol |
