Hit the lake this morning. Wind was kickin' out the South. Knew I would have to head south to get out the wind. Pull up to my spot. Threw top water for a few min. Then specksndasurf ties on his cork, first cast, nice trout. I switched to sand eel. It was on from the time we got there till about 8am. Then the wind picked up and the bite slowed down. We took a count and had 14 specks and 6 white trout. Got tired of fighting the wind and figured we might have caught a few more but decided to pack it up. Headed in around 9:30am.

Nice! You did much better than us. We caught 4 reds, 7 specs, 1 white. Something like that. Did see a big school of reds, but i only caught one and my partners couldnt get hit with them busting the top ALLL AROUND US! lol Did ya'll find birds or just fished along shore?

We started out few hundred yards off of the shore. Picked up a few. Then a flock of about 100 gulls showed up. I mean they were everywhere. Trout were smoking the top everywhere around my boat. Almost had a few shrimp jump in my boat! And i was the only boat around. Trolled toward them and started catching. Once we got to about 10 fish, I look up and there are about 10 boats closing on me from every direction. It was crazy. But I didnt let it bother me, I just drifted around the outside and kept picking up fish. I dont know what the guys in the other boats were doing but I only saw them pick up 2 or 3 each. Then the birds scattered and the wind picked up. I wanted to have the whole afternoon to chill out so just headed in early.
