amite /blind /tickfaw etc
just released by ch.9 news.
As of noon today all waterways in livingston parish are closed to boat traffic. they say this is due to the chance of flooding. |
hmm never heard of em doing that
|
That seem weird.
|
A friend's parents house just flooded in New Iberia due to all the rain over here. About an hour ago they had a couple inches over the base boards.
|
say that w/ the wind and rain and tides there could be flooding.
|
spent most of the day at our family camp on Blind river....water was just inches from covering the pier.....
Higher than I ever see it unless we are about to get a hurricane ...... High High for sure |
I know they've closed St. James Boat Club several times due to water and debris.
|
Damned oil will be there soon.
|
Wow. That's crazy. It's been steady raining since noon here
|
Yea yak,,,,,,,,,,,,we need some relief........
boats passing yesterday was pushing water over the piers......... those that have low lying camps will get water from the wakes....... |
That's why it's closed I bet
|

what kind of fish do ya'll catch back there. i ve been a couple times but never produced well. but i was bream fishing with crickets. i would like to know how to fish it cause its so close to the house i can bring my 8 yr old.
|
fishing is tough but on the mend.....
bream,Bass and Sacalait..... I don't fish it to be honest......we've been back there five decades now so we have seen come and go. We set out crab traps in the summer and that's about it for me. |

i have a buddy who has been catching alot of bass in there latley nothing great in size though. it is littered with jug lines i see them moving in the water all the time lots of gar fish . fish the rock on either side of the pump station or closer to where pit amite meets blind river in the cypress knees
|
pox has got the idea.....fish AWAY from the Blind River and the Diversion.
Head back from the locks going into Sorrento and Saint Amant. Those little canals are more fishy then they appear. I just have a boat that will not make it under all the small bridges. |
Maybe you should just troll around the Prop shop.....I heard it is best on weekends.
|
yeah,
i know a few people been catching crabs at the prop stop |

Actually there used to be some pretty good fishing in and around there. I absolutely love the place, I wished it was better these days. We have a great place there........... the fish and the ducks left when the salvania moved in. |

yes Tickfaw ......
the Prop Stop is closed, some make your way across the Lake and hang wit the Ascension/Livingston hoodlums is what I'm screamin' LOL It's made the scenery around the place even better...... I remember a day where them Baton Rouge folks thought we were all country hicks and would come our way....LOL Now they bought all the land on the Diversion and built million dollar homes......go figure. |
