That's pretty cool for it to happen that quickly. It'd be interesting to find out where it was caught.

Lite the greese you can't eat a tag!!!!!!

fishmaster911 07-08-2010 08:31 PM

SKnox 07-08-2010 10:11 PM

Is that something that happens alot or is rare to be caught that soon after tagging?

thats a good question ! i only been in the tagging program for 8 months !

Dink 07-08-2010 11:32 PM

A big trout like that doesn't eat all that often........they eat bigger fish so they don't have to eat as often.......I'd call this rare......

Someone educate us if I'm wrong.......

I know this is off topic but interesting none the less. We were about five miles offshore fishing mangrove snapper . My friend's girlfriend starts hollering "I got one" when a guy on the other side of the boat hollers out "Me too". When she finally gets the big bull red to the boat, he had the other guys bait also. They both took a photo and back he went.

Ha. Good for you. Be really cool to get multiple hits (more than 2) from 1 tag and track it for a while.

That would be awesome !
The guy with the tagging program told me that someone tagged a 10in red in moss lake one day. 2 weeks after someone caught that same tagged 10in red at one of the weirs some time that morning ! Later that afternoon some else caught the same 10in tagged red fish ! The fish traveled @ 20 or 25 miles in 2 weeks !

cmdrost 07-14-2010 08:36 AM

Reds travel more than trout......Cousin had a tagged red released in Big Lake show up in Sabine the very next day.
