I don't know but I'm not too confident in his detailed instruction sheet on how to hook it up...

i was always under the impression that this was illegal to fish with.

swamp snorkler 07-12-2010 09:58 PM

I seen some pics from the results....... it works. However he should at least get a ruler to draw some straight lines on his sketch.

He should also take some spelling classes...it's 'electrified' not 'electrofied'

fishinpox 07-12-2010 10:18 PM

IF ANYONE IS CONSIDERING THIS YOUR ARE A SMUCK! AND DESERVE TO BE WHIPPED BY A FISHING ROD JUST LIKE ASR'S WIFE DOES TO HIM!!!:*****:

If you ground the device to an aluminum boat like in the picture, the electrolisis will eat the aluminum from your boat and the foot of the motor.

Ray 07-12-2010 11:13 PM

No person shall take or possess fish taken by means of spears, poisons, stupefying substances or devices, explosives, guns, tree-topping devices, electricity or any instrument or device capable of producing an electric current used in shocking said fish.

Hebert 07-12-2010 11:14 PM

"Da game warden tolddd me it was alright, till I got caught"

Ray 07-12-2010 11:17 PM

I can sell dope, as long as I don't get caught.
Nothing is illegal, unless you get caught.

Woodduck Commander 07-12-2010 11:19 PM

yep, just dial em up.

Ray 07-12-2010 11:40 PM

It was a magneto that produced electricity. They used them in the old phones before rotary phones.
They still use them on some of the oilfield work boats.

LPfishnTIM 07-13-2010 12:53 AM

definitely not legal, but people use a fish finder, a battery and jumper cables to shock fish, DWLF had a story a couple years ago about a guy who got arrested for it.

I bought one of those about a year ago!

For my pond, it's is overrun with catfish, couldn't get it to work, talked to the guy & he said it will not work in still water, has to be moving water. I would think water is water moving or not:confused:. I know it didn't work. I may put a boat with a small outboard tie the boat off & put it in gear to move the water, I'll let ya know if it works.

Must have not been doing it right, they really really work. Don't ask me how I know, Redneck folks been using that kind of "Tackle" for many moons. My grandfather used to be quite a fisherman but his "Tackle" of choice was dynamite.

Corey they're all yours if I can get them. We've caught them on trout lines etc, but just can't seem to knock the population down. My ex father in law won't quit feeding them! Last summer he was feeding them & my son took a 5' cast net & in one throw caught 53! All about 1lb to 1lb 1/2. Took two of us to drag the net up on the bank.

southern151 07-13-2010 12:34 PM

Oh wow! Those are the perfect eatin size!

Marshrat 07-14-2010 11:30 PM

The only place this is legal in Louisiana is in your private pond on your property that has no ingress or egress. It is also used to count fish by biologist.
