just heard that most of state waters have been reopened to recreational fishing and commercial could open in 7-10 days... There are still a few closed areas but for the most part everybody can fish. Just waiting for the map to be posted by LDWF

I got a buddy in Hopedale/Shell Beach that's making over $1000 a day workin' for BP. He said, "To hell with fishin'."

YES:fireworks::fireworks:...... here you go

eman 07-15-2010 10:11 AM

Looks like its closed from caminada pass west to the west end of elmers. map has no detail, So could be caminada pass to belle pass.

Garfish 07-15-2010 10:39 AM

Yo Eman,
Looks like west part of Fourchon is open. I see Bay Champagne on the map as open. I would assume a GPS would give you some better accuracy. Looks as if all of Elmer's is closed. GI looks wide open.
Good news for the coast!!
Now need a mega clean up to get that stuff outta there.

i checked the coordinates on my garmin mapping software on my computer and there apperars to be a small piece of elmers open right at caminada... maybe a quarter of a mile...then closed to about half way between belle pass and caminada....

RaginCagin 07-15-2010 10:57 AM

I mainly fish Barataria side in the bay and sometimes the rocks on the Gulf side so i'm good to go. Going to plan a trip the last week of August hopefully. Anyone going to GI soon?
