Grand Isle Bulls on Parade
 

Went down to Grand Isle this morning with an awesome guide who is a friend. He had heard reports that the bull reds were in the pass. He was exactly right! We fought reds all day on the fly rods having about 5 doubles. We caught 20 bull reds the biggest going 42' and 28 lbs. I also caught a 20 lb jack crevalle on my 8 wt fly rod. Jarid told me that would be considered a trophy on the 8 wt! We saw 3 schools of over 200 bull reds all around the beach today. I will have pictures later when Jarid emails me to them. The last fish of the day got destroyed by three 10 ft bull sharks! Crazy thing is we saw bull sharks all day swimming right next to the boat and on our way in we saw three guys wade fishing on the edge of the pass!:eek:

Just outside Camanida Pass, on the end of the rocks, on the outside edge of the rocks,
the boats were picking up Red after Red last weekend, with a few small Trout mixed in.
They were anchored and throwing towards the day marker, killing the Reds in a hole
located between the rocks and the marker.

DAMN...........that thing was skinny. :eek: :cool: :rolleyes: :smokin:

i love catching some bulls... you gonna have to teach me that fly rod stuff man it looks like a blast

I caught all my trout on a badonkadonk that broke off. A pink topdog jr that broke off and a black and chart. Top dog jr. That a black tip took but we got back

Finally got the pics from the trip. Really like the one with the Jack, he looks even bigger than I remember. A trophy for sure!

About 6 years ago, I caught a 21 lb Jack in the ship channel ~ 1/2 north of 9 mile cut. To my dissappointment, he put up very little fight. It only took me less than a minute to land it. I thought I had a 5 lb red on the line.

That is in the works Bruce, in the works. ;)
