I lost my sense of taste and smell about a month ago. This thread makes me sad, what I would give to taste a bowl of red beans. Enjoy the beans they look great.

My grandmother died about 25 years ago from diabetis (sp) and she lost almost all of her eye sight years before she passed but she could cook anything just about til the day she died. She never had a measuring cup or spoon and very few cookbooks if any. She did everything by sound, smell and feel.... always used to amaze me that she could fry your egg however you wanted it and never could see it... |
Them old people got it going on. Me, I like me some gumbo. Deer meat, shrimp and okra. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm to the dot com

Me in the winter would be a good gumbo. Summer, a nice fat ribeye marinated all day then thrown on the coals with some grill portabello mushrooms, and some red wine.

Anything gumbo in the winter months. During the summer a well aged ribeye hits the spot!
Tumbleweed, I hate to hear it but, have to ask. How did you lose your sense of smell and taste? That's some terrible senses to lose! I just finished working with a man that had lost his sense of smell but it was due to being shot while being car-jacked. |
