fishing this weekend

well,

im going back to kinder for my nieces birfday party

was gonna fish the beach, but looks like a south wind all week. so i was thinking of bringing the yak and fishing for a few hours in the morning on saturday in BL.

any idea of anyone catching fish in the west cove area?

or anywhere accessible by yaks?

yak'em-n-stack'em 08-16-2010 08:39 PM

P.S.

i know i better be careful

cuz i know the big lake locals wont let me leave alive hahahaha

Jordan 08-16-2010 08:40 PM

Austin, there were about 5 yakkers in turners sun morning. One yakker was cheating, he had a trolling motor on his. I didn't know u could mount a trolling motor on a yak.

yak'em-n-stack'em 08-16-2010 08:42 PM

well

i try not to cheat with a trolling motor

PUREBAY2200 08-16-2010 08:42 PM

Haha... That's totally cheating!!!
West cove opens up for oyster harvest in October... Better fish it now!!

Jordan 08-16-2010 08:44 PM

Wish I woulda got a little closer, but I keep my distance. Don't wanna get a big lake local on my bad side

I know most of the cops. I know the sheriff and the chief deputy.
Sheriff is a lot more strict than you think. So is the chief deputy.
He is gonna run for sheriff in the next election. He don't want any
negative publicity ruining his campaign if they let something slide.

longcast 08-17-2010 07:29 PM

I'm as local as u get. I have not had problems on the lake. I keep away from people as much as possible. No worries yak. Let's go get em.

yak'em-n-stack'em 08-17-2010 08:11 PM

I was talkin about the cops down in the parish. Way down South.

longcast 08-17-2010 09:05 PM

I know a bunch of them. About 4 years ago o worked for Cameron parish as a medic.i worked hackberry and j bayou. U are right. Those guys do not play.

meathauler 08-17-2010 09:10 PM

There is a deputy in Johnson Bayou named Kojack. I heard he gave his mother a speeding ticket. If you not from there you will pay the piper if caught.

Ray 08-18-2010 09:00 AM

Kojack is from Oregon. His mother is not from here. He loves his mother in law, he
won't give her a ticket, in my opinion. I grew up across the street from his wife's
family. He is not as bad as people think. He was when he first hired on. He just
has that look...

meathauler 08-18-2010 09:05 AM

He does have that look. It was guys from the cam. SO that told me that. They were prolly just stating that he will write anybody a ticket. Does he still have a trailer park or something in holly beach area?

Ray 08-18-2010 09:11 AM

He lived on the beach just outside Cameron. When his father in law died, his mother in
law got remarried to a preacher and moved out of town. His wife took care of a bed
and breakfast her mother owned, Dyson House. They moved into the mother in laws
house after she moved away. That house and the bed and breakfast were gone after
Rita. They bought his wife's uncles house down the road and rebuilt it. It got damaged
for Ike, but rebuilt again. They never had a trailer park in JB or Holly Beach that I
know of. His wife writes for the local paper down there.

Ray 08-18-2010 09:14 AM

I saw Kojacks mother in law and her father run the stop sign on the corner where I grew
up for 30 years. He never wrote them up. They never, ever slowed down for it.
Like I said, he has mellowed out a lot since he got older.
I was mistaken about his mother being from Oregon. She is from Abbeville. Kojack and
his wife moved to Oregon after they got married. When they first got married, he had
hair to his belt and a beard just as long. Big time hippy looking guy. When they moved
back, he went to work at Dyson's Lumber yard, then he and the Johnson, the cheif
deputy now, left Dyson's and went to work for the Sheriff's Dept. around the same
time.

meathauler 08-18-2010 09:20 AM

I worked with these guys after the huricane. I thought he said that he was living in a big camper trailer near Holy Beach after the storm. He said that it was in a trailer park that was destroyed pretty much, but he had plans on redoing it. Maybe it was another deputy I'm thinking about. That is one place you dont want to speed at no matter what!!!!

Ray 08-18-2010 09:43 AM

You can get a ticket fixed down there, if you have a good record. But you have to
pay court costs. They want your money. They don't care about the ticket.
You have to talk the someone in the DA's office. The Sheriff can't fix tickets anymore.

meathauler 08-18-2010 09:58 AM

Most DA office will do that for you. They are like everybody else. They need the $ A DWI is a whole different story!

I got lit up for speeding. I called the office, they dropped it down to a nonmoving violation and added a few more dollars for thier trouble. They were very willing to just take the money. Ray is right, they don't care about the ticket. Doesn't bother me one bit. As long as my insurance company doesn't find out, I would rather pay a one time fine than have my car insurance go up.

longcast 08-18-2010 11:45 AM

Kojacks an ***. He pulled mr and my partner over in the old ambulance we had. Lhe said we were doing 70 and that old truck could not run 70 if it had to. My partner did tell him Fu and drove off leaving kojacks in the middle of the road. I thought we were gonna go to jail. He just called our boss and told him.

Ray 08-18-2010 12:00 PM

Who was your partner? I know a few who worked and some still work for the ambulance
service down there.
Was he a Romero?

longcast 08-18-2010 01:34 PM

His name was steve and he still works for cpad2

specksNdaSURF 08-18-2010 08:19 PM
