Who cares what he will score, he is going to be a beautiful mount! :D

10 point cull buck

finally, check out this nice 10 pointer. Rancher says he is a cull buck because his G-2s are shorter than his G-3s. I will take his word for it and cull him if he happens by my stand come November! ! !
|
Looks like that 10 has got some mass.

Take the 10, wait on the nine, he still looks young. JMO What a difficult decision! ;) |
When looking at the 10 Pt.....not a great picture of the body, but could that Buck only be a 2.5 year old deer and have a rack like that?
Neck...not that big??? Back.....looks kind of flat. Stomach......don't see any sagging. |
he will score you about 50 lbs of processed meat for the table. so go ahead and shoot him

That's some beauties they're growin over there! |
9-point 150 green, but he looks still young I bet hed get better mass next season, Id leave him and take the 10 cull buck...
|
They both look like young deer to me, I would take the cull ten and let the nine walk this season IMHO.
|
my cousin is working for a breeding ranch in west texas
they have some monsters http://www.texaswhitetaildirectory.c...Features_ID=18 |
Man I would shoot the 10pt and let that 9pt walk for another year.
|
I'd shoot both of them. They may not be there next year or the lease might be gone. What part of TX is that?
|
its south of san antonio i think, i forgot exactly where
|
Yeh looks like around San Antonio. Those are some beauties. I would say both those deer would score around 150-155. They are some young deer for sure. i would say 2.5-3 yrs old. Tough call on whether to take them or not. Thats the difference b/w Texas and here. In LA, I wouldnt think twice about laying those 2 down. But in Texas, thats just young deer that could become MONSTERS. Those could both be potential 160-170 if u let them grow. Just gotta hope everyone in your lease is on the same page. Like last year on our lease in Laredo, TX, my dad passed on a nice 20-22" wide 8 point because he was young like these deer. The next weekend someone else shot him. He was chapped, had he known someone was going to take him, he would have done it.
|
If you aren't worried about someone else taking the 9pt then I would say let it walk as it definitely looks like a young deer with a lot of potential. Take the 10pt if it is a true cull buck as it is a nice looking deer as well.
Wish I faced your same dilemma! If you don't mind, pm me and let me know how much you are paying per year on the lease. My buddy has a big ranch in Pearsall, but he wants an arm and a leg to shoot anything on it and I refuse to drop that kind of coin on a high fence deer when I have a 165 on the wall that cost me nothing. |
I agree. Kill 'em, eat 'em and hang the horns on the wall.
Might die of old age or get hit on the road before next year. |
Good pics and nice deer.I don't see a 150 in the crowd though? The 8 looks like he will be 130 max and 4.5 old (after the velvet.)The score does not mean squat. The 8 is a purdy buck!

As far as taking him, you're the one on the trigger. If he's a trophy to you take him, he's something to be very proud of. If you don't, also something to be very proud of! At least take some pictures if you don't!!!!! |
hey scuba nice deer but why isnt the grass grenn over there yall havent been getting any rain?
