Got there early.. dropped the yak in the water with a nice north east wind. paddled out to the rocks and tossed a skitterwalk, jr spook and fat boy.. nada. i put on a swimmin mullet and caught 2 in about 20 mins.. changed to a glo/chart jerk jr. and it was hammer time! i caught 22 trout and 2 reds in a bout 2 hours.. it slowed way down about 8:30..i didnt catch any giants.. all trout under were 2lbs. i loaded up and left about 9:30.. a whole lot better than i did yesterday.. but the water looked a whole lot better too . im writing this report and wont b back on to reply till probly 6.. but i expect lots of reports of big numbers caught! the water looked really good.
heres an average trout and one of the reds -- |
Nice!!!!! Thats awesome.....i was hoping to here something like this.
|
NICE that looks like a blast! How far out from the rocks were you, and about how deep is that. I haven't been there in years
|
thanks, yeah the water looks good.. i was sittin on the corners and casting across them. i guessed it to be about 7-8 feet on the end corner.

I'm gonna go this afternoon if you can make it... |
Yeh I knew if u had a yak u could smoke em. Had to climb up on the rocks yesterday to get em.

"*" hammered the fish earlier in the week in big lake all on the glo jerk jr. as well. |
nice catch.... that's my favorite set of rocks out my kayak too.
Jedi, what tackle store do you work at? |
I bet one of those lil 2 man boats that people have in their pond would work good on calm days at the edge of the rocks. u could easily drag them to the water from truck.

We kept 57 between 6 of us. Nothing under 2 lbs. Some at holly beach. Most at long beach

aight! Don't think this wind will mess anything up? And I'm thinking about taking my crv to save on gas. Should i be alright in that or should i bring my Z? |
Good job and nice report.
|
You will be fine in the crv. We took a mini van. Haha.
The water still looked good at holly beach on out way out. People next to us were murdering hammer trout on live skrimps under popping corks |
5-1 live bait to artificial

|
I actually wasn't in the yak. I was just wading. Figured the yaks would have been good. We saw some big trout busting at long beach about 200 yards out
