Pathfinder 23 HPS

Does anyone have experience with Pathfinder's new 23' HPS?

They mention that the boat was built specifically around Yamaha's Super High Output (SHO), but also show it on the website with the new Yamaha 300 4-stroke. Was wondering if anyone has any performance numbers on either setup too...

SULPHITE 09-08-2010 10:25 AM

Purty but $$$$

dang, thats nicer than my pirogue...

Ray 09-08-2010 10:29 AM

I saw an article in a boating magazine last week. 65 mph.
Draws 10 to 12 inches.
I did see it was built specifically for the new Yamaha.
I like it, but I don't like the price.
I can get a good used 34 ft. sportfisher with twin diesels for less than that.

LaAngler 09-08-2010 10:32 AM

chris coulter claims his 24HO's will do 70 loaded with a 300, plus his rigs are 20K cheaper and probably ride as good or better.

Montauk17 09-08-2010 10:34 AM

70k for a bay boat is insane

Ray 09-08-2010 10:38 AM

I'll wait for some rich dude to buy one. Then sell it after 5 years of not using it.

Looks narrow to me? Lotta money.

BA1125 09-08-2010 12:52 PM

How much do the Lake & Bays run compared to these?

So a 24 Haynie HO with a 300 runs about 40k?

Ray 09-08-2010 01:00 PM

The 21 Haynie with a 225 runs around $36K.

Any boat over $50k for me better have a comfortable bed, generator, and a very cold air conditioner!

should be about 8'6'' wide

Dink 09-08-2010 11:31 PM

Then it wouldn't ride as good as it does.....wide boats go shallower bit ride worse......they found a happy medium....

you were close.... 8'4"

meaux fishing 09-08-2010 11:54 PM

Cockpit square footage 58 sq ft

Draft* 12"

Fuel capacity 60 gal

LOA 23' 06"

Maximum capacities 8 persons or 1,500 lbs

Maximum HP 300 hp

Weight (approx. w/ engine) 3,000 lbs (w/ VF250)

Gas tank is kinda small for a 23fter isnt it? I mean my kenner has a 40 gal tank and its only 18'6"

LaAngler 09-09-2010 12:03 AM

that chick's thighs look toned :D

The 23' & 24' Haynie only has a 53 gallon fuel tank from what the internet shows. Seems like these boats would hold more fuel then what they do, but I guess if they are getting the fuel mileage that they say they are you really don't need much more. I would really like to see about 75 gallons of fuel on a boat this size.

Ray 09-09-2010 09:38 AM

The less weight a boat has, the better. In my opinion.
More weight, less speed, more draft.
Also the Extreme is a low boat, they can't put as tall of a tank under the deck.
I have a 60 gallon tank in my 19 ft. boat. I like that in a way, I don't have to fill up as often,
but it is slower to get on plane when full. It's like having 2 extra Jordans in the boat, weight wise.

jpeff31787 09-09-2010 03:59 PM

pretty darn nice boat! I like that 23ft cape bay too tho. That thing is smooth looking!

speck-chaser 09-09-2010 11:35 PM

I can run a long way on my 60 gals.

Dink 09-10-2010 06:27 AM

I hold 80 gallons.....man does That hurt the pocket book!!!
