hunting boots

Who makes the best insulated knee high boots for under 200$? I need some before the weather turns cold.

SULPHITE 10-06-2010 10:25 AM

heard "muck boots" were good. don't know their pricing though...

wtretrievers 10-06-2010 10:25 AM

If you hunt La, theres always water somewhere! Lacrosse Alpha burly's

Gander Mt in Beaumont would be the closest place to find what you are looking for. Suggest Lacross,Muck, in the 800 series thinsalate or head to Lafayette Shooters in Lafayette.

Muck boots are hard to beat

jchief 10-06-2010 11:18 AM

I have the Lacrosse Alpha Burly 1000 gram that I bought at Nichols and love them. Have heard a lot of good about the Muck boots though. The Lacrosse are cheaper.

Woodduck Commander 10-06-2010 11:43 AM

i love my lacrosses... very comfortable its like wearing tennis shoes with a rubber cover

Jordan 10-06-2010 12:41 PM

I'LL own a pair of mucks by christmas. Academy had them for $135

wtretrievers 10-06-2010 12:52 PM

What kind of hunting you doing? If you're deer hunting & theres briars, muck boots (the upper part) don't like briars!

Is it October YET? 10-06-2010 01:24 PM

The new Irish Setters look nice. I have the Alpha Burly Sports 800 grams. With the right socks they are hard to beat. I would go somewhere that sells Mucks, LaCrosse, Irish Setter and Rocky and see which one you like best. it is almost like buying a bow. Each pair fit each person different.

meaux fishing 10-06-2010 03:03 PM

cant go wrong with muck or lacrosse

whunter29 10-06-2010 03:13 PM

They are for deer hunting and yes there are briars around where I hunt.

supercajun 10-06-2010 04:37 PM

cant go wrong with the lacrosse ***** turtles. just get some good thick socks.

Knee high Muck's can't be beat. Artic Sport version ($100.00 2 years ago) is what I have for sitting in a cold duck blind. Keeps feet warm and easy to walk in. Look @ Hanks clothing online. When I bought mine Hank's were cheaper than Cabela's. Look at what some ot the reviewer's at the Cabela's and Hank's are saying about Muck's and you'll see what I mean.

Lacroose Alpha Burly 1000 grams have been kickin it up there for two years now, going on three with no holes, tears, and they are WARM.

Muck boots are awesome. Have a pair of Arctic sport Muck's--they were around $100.00 2 years ago. Great for sitting in a duck blind in cold weather. Keep your feet very warm. Very comfy to wear and walk in. Got mine from Hank's Clothing online. Cheaper @Hank's than Cabela's. back then. Muck has different styles and you may not need some as insulated as mine. Neoprene type upper material as someone else mentioned would probably not hold up well in briars but I'm not using them there.

Re: Best pair

I use Rocky [Lynx] #7290, 15" snake boots for Dove & Pheasant, even deer... very comfortable, for the exception of the left boot, around the ankle, has to be broken-in more. Paid a little over a hundred for em. They're 1,000 Denier Cordura
Nylon w/ full leather grain upper, warm & waterproof, Anyone have a solution for breaking-in a stubborn boot?
