For you honest men

Whats more important.

Women

Or fishing/hunting

For me it's hands down fishing/hunting. And I'll tell any girl I am with that.

Which is why the last 3 left me

My first marriage didn't work primarily because of that reason, nagged all the time about my hunting and fishing, made me miserable, even when i got to go i was on a time table and only got to go once a week! Needless to say that wasn't going to work, I Got divorced and moved to the lake and dove all in to my hunting/fishing, swore i would never marry again, well I met the right one, she enjoys it as much as I do, and understands when i have to make them weekend get aways or them weekday afternoon fishing trips, now it's happily ever after!

fishinpox 11-12-2010 05:28 AM

i fished every waking hour when i was with my ex wife.....EX wife she an ex for a reason

fishinpox 11-12-2010 05:38 AM

My ex told me "mike if you could F a speckled trout I bet you would" I told her "IF?" .......... She didn't like that very much I clearly remember she never looked at me the same after that...!!!! *****

Dink 11-12-2010 07:05 AM

Women in general? Or my woman??
Yeah, it don't matter......I get nagged all the damn time!! But she and the boys always come first.....

Mediumheavyaction6'6 11-12-2010 07:08 AM

First Austin, the last three left you because you have the maturity and the penis of a three year old. Secondly, anyone who knows me, knows the answer to that question. Unfortunately, my wife is at the top of that list.

SaltyShaw 11-12-2010 07:21 AM

My Ol Lady is good, she knows how much i love it and she will get aggervated sometimes if i dont get home until 8:00 after fishing all day but she dosent make a big deal about it once she sees the fish, and she likes to fish almost as much as i do so thats a good thing . . . .. . Have to say my Ol Lady is at the top of that list also!

A 3yo!!!! *****!!!

southern151 11-12-2010 07:39 AM

The wife wins by narrow margins.:*****: She and the kids always will come first even when they make me want to pull my damn hair out!

She also knows that, given a small window to go fishing or hunting, I'M OUT! Like BLT, I've got a good wife that understands that I need outlets and she tries not to stand in the way of those outlets...She also loves eating dem yellowmouths, grilled half-shells and flatties!;)

With that said, Austin, before I got married, a woman I was dating could take a quick trip to the curb if she thought she could get in the way of hunting or fishing!

Finfeatherfur 11-12-2010 07:57 AM

Funny topic, but so true!

I used to fish and hunt to get away from my first wife, that B*%(H! She doesn't even qualify for a DNA donor!

Now, I can't wait to get on the water or in the woods with my love! She enjoys it as much as I do and we have a great time!

joshdomingue 11-12-2010 09:16 AM

Yea mine loves to fish, but never gets up to go. she's happy to wake up on saturday and i'm not anywhere to be found..

Ray 11-12-2010 09:28 AM

It's not the woman I like, it's the body parts they have that is #1 with me.

It all depends on the attitude. If she tells me no fishing, I will go just to show her.
It's not right to throw a dare at a Coonass who grew up in Cameron.

I put her first, unless she gets under my skin. Then I do it to show her.

longcast 11-12-2010 09:30 AM

My wife could care less about fishing. She goes with me about twice a year. I fish at least once a week and she way cool with it. No time frame. She knows I will be back when I'm done. My wife is the ****.

Purple Back 11-12-2010 09:42 AM

Unfortunately, my wife comes first.............I do not care to explain.

jchief 11-12-2010 09:43 AM

Mine is really great. Can't complain one bit. When we first met, 26 years ago, I told her I loved to hunt and fish and that would not change. She used to fish with me alot, but not so much anymore.

I am feeling guilty about that lately. Need to spend more time with her.

Man that's hilarious

longsidelandry 11-12-2010 09:56 AM

My wife definately comes before hunting/fishing but she understands that when I want to do something I will do it. She always makes sure when she schedules things that it doesn't interfere with hunting season.

Jedi Lure Tricks 11-12-2010 10:11 AM

Priorities Man! My wife ALWAYS comes first. She doesn't ask for much, so if she asks.. she gets. That's why she lets me do whatever I want. Keep them happy and they'll keep you happy!

Amen to that!!

Ever since we had kids my wife asked me to put away the guns and start fishing more. As much as it killed me to do it, I did so out of respect for her. But it took her a while to realize there is no season for fishin :D

Wife and kids always come first - no ifs ands or buts. We have a system that as long as I make all of her important "events" then I can fish as much as I want. No complaints here.

Have to agree with this as my vote. Wife & kids 1st any day of the week. Wive's (in general) will always complain about you leaving them, either for hunting camp or fishing trip, but the good ones know how much it means to you to go do those things. At the end of the day, they'd just rather be spending time with you than with out you.

without the tools they'd be screwed bigtime

Austin the real question is, why would a guy who goes to LSU want a girlfriend to begin with? That would be like locking yourself in prison with all the young CO-EDs prancing around in heat.

A friend I work with told me that without them tools, they would have went the same way as the Do Do bird many years ago.

simplepeddler 11-12-2010 12:42 PM

Nice to see some real men stand up for thier brides..........

It took me two times yak.......but I realize now putting the wife and kids first will ALWAYS put you happy, regardless of how much I fish or hunt.

The last year of the first marraige I fished 48 weekends one year..............hateful over weight naggin woman....not sure what came first me fishing too much or her becoming a hateful overweith naggin waman, the line is blurry....I knew it was over when she dropped 70 pounds......happy days were to come for me I knew it.

The new bride of 10 years is smokin hot and after three days away from home doing ANYTHING I am ready to get back home.

Ray 11-12-2010 12:55 PM

It is easier to go fishing if she is a nagger.
If she is a good wife, it is easier to stay home with her.

eman 11-12-2010 02:29 PM

At y'alls age it was an every weekend thing . Then the son came along and it got cut a little bit . Then the school and sports and scouting started ,It got cut a little more.
Then he started to want to go fishing so it picked back up again . Then he moved out. I got old , I wasn't mad at the fish no more .Now if i get to fish 4 times a year i'm doing great. But I can say the wife has never told me no you can't!

Gottogo49 11-12-2010 02:43 PM

My Priorities: (everyone is different)
God
Family - Wife, kids, grand kids

Volleyball
Hunting
Fishing - I like fishing more than hunting but hunting opportunities are more limited.

My wife is very understanding, I fish 3 -4 times a week now that I am retired.
Fortunately, volleyball doesn't compete with fishing and hunting very much,
I play volleyball 2-3 times a week.

DUCKGOGETTER 11-12-2010 04:16 PM

I bleed hunting and fishing, but my wife and kids come first. I have a wonderful wife that would rather me be hunting and fishing instead of some bar doing God knows what with God knows who.

Well . . . coming up on forty years 19 Dec., She knew about the huntin'/fishin' part from the get go . . . I still tell her that she is the luckiest b . . . . in the world . . . She used to throw things at me but eventually she agreed . . .Time away from each other is invaluable . . . Time stops at those days of separation and starts anew when I come home . . we are both glad to see each other . . . and for each bag of fish I give her she gives me "special time" . . . . I quit giving her gallon bags of fillets, went to quarts, then to sandwich, and now it's snack size . . . I tell her it's due to decreased limits . . . all with the same results . . . that stuff sho' is rich, it don't take long to catch up . . .LOL . . .a lot of ups and downs and I wouldn't trade any thing for it . . . The Good Book says love the woman of your youth . . .

well I love duck huntin and fishing, but with my job as a directional driller my time is very limited...my wife understands and not very often does she ASK me not to go when I say Id like to make a hunt or fish when I get some days off. I just try to jugle my time as best I can with huntin/fishin and my family. So with as understanding as my wife is my family comes first because she doesnt ask for much just a little time...

For all you guys that have problems with the fishing/hunting issues. You can tell them that it would be just as easy for you to go to the clubs and chase HO's as it is for you to go hunting and fishing. That will normally shut up the young wives.

BayouFX4 11-14-2010 10:33 AM

BellPepperHead 11-15-2010 02:14 PM

Mine doesn't bother me at all, but when we first starting dating it was right before hunting season. I was sure that she knew that I was going to hunt and that early on in the relationship I would have canned her in a heartbeat if she would have bothered me about. She has now made it through seven hunting seasons and still doesn't bother me much at all as long as I take her on her out on her farwell dinner and out to eat lunch before each trip she is fine. I just tell her imagine it this way, if you only had 60 days a year to shop wouldn't you go as much as possible as well?
