Vermilion Bay Saturday 11/20

Looking to make a trip out of the point on Saturday, want to put the last round of fish in the freezer. Looks like I may have some room in the boat due to hunting season. Anyone know where they are biting?

I heard that too... Big lake is on fire right now :)

Montauk17 11-18-2010 10:15 AM

I just heard the bite died off in big lake. :D Fish are biting in the cove and hammock area if you can deal with the crowd. If not I hear the trout are still at the reefs in the pass/tee butte area.

Dink 11-18-2010 10:23 AM

No....dularge, the bite is in dularge!!!

Water clarity report

If someone could send a report on the condition of the water in V-Bay it would make an easy choice. If conditions are good in V-Bay get it while it last, won't be there long.

cjdecuir 11-18-2010 02:33 PM

I am going to try out V Bay, like you said the bite does not last long when it is here. I have a couple of spots that can sometimes produce, Just checking to see if there were any tag a longs.

specktator 11-18-2010 02:42 PM

Buddy of mine caught an 8 pounder in the cove this past weekend

waters filthy winds screwed it up, Go to big lake for a fast/easy limit under birds. I'm sure they have taken over the lake by now

Anybody with an updated water report inside v-bay. Taking the wife fishing in the morning and deciding which direction to go. V-bay is closer. Any info would be appreciated

Big Flounder 11-20-2010 10:18 PM

I'm headed to v bay in the am! Look for the white and black nautic star! Might not have any fish but will have plenty beer! First time to fish the area and I'm fishing it solo.

Caught 31 specs in trash pile yesterday and 35 day before. Slow but steady.

SaltyShaw 11-21-2010 11:53 AM

sounds like a pretty good 2 days to me!

cjdecuir 11-22-2010 07:45 AM

Fished Saturday out of the Point, headed to the cove with 7500000000 other boats, nothing happening so headed to the Hammock, still not a bite, back to the cove for one trout, tried blue point and landed one small flounder. Tried every color plastic that I had, both in gulp and queen cocahoe. I even threw topwater for a while. Water was a little stained, relatively salty for the point. Tide did not seem to be moving at all like it was predicted. Heard of various other reports with people catching a few but no one lighting it on fire.
