There is a truck stop right next to thompson creek. I used to have some prop there. But there is another truck stop at state line but that's about 15 miles north of Thompson creek. My camp is off 61 just south of state line.

whunter29 01-05-2011 05:07 PM

Man thats a black coyote. I sure would shoot it in a heartbeat.

send pic to wildlife and fisheries for their opinion.

I'm sure you know Tony Vidrine, being from Opelousas.

Yeh I do know Tony. Him and my dad are friends. He usually gives me a little advice on where the turkeys are holding at on Sherbune for the lottery hunts.

I'll have to send them a pic. Because it is definitely not just a black coyote. It's way too big.

Do you have any pics of deer or turkeys from that camera that we can use for scale?

It is thought we no longer have wolves here, once had the red wolf here which looks ALOT like a coyote, but to see a red wolf would be very very uncommon and to see a black one would be...very very very very.

What did he have to say about it?

wtretrievers 01-18-2011 09:39 AM

Black or just dark colored yote, I've seen several come from the north west Jackson area off Jackson/Woodville road. Which is not far through the woods from south of the border

specktator 01-18-2011 12:50 PM

I haven't checked with him yet but Im going to try this week. Im sure it is like everyone is saying though, a black yote or a coydog.
