Y'all got any pics of your first pickup truck? Here are a couple of mine....a 1978 Ford F-150 4x4. It's also my fav truck. I sold it in 2002 with 27,000 actual miles.

"W" 01-22-2011 09:27 PM

How much Weed did you burn in that

Finfeatherfur 01-22-2011 09:29 PM

Salty - do you realize what a truck is worth like that these days? Only 27K miles? Holy crap.......it would be worth more today than off the showroom floor!

I got a pretty good price for it but, yeah, I know what "your" sayin'. If I'm not mistaken, I paid like $8800 for it new. I spent at least that on it afterwards. These pics were taken around 1980.

LPfishnTIM 01-22-2011 09:55 PM

my first truck was a 1994 isuzu pickup, it wasn't worth taking pics of! it would go 0-60 in a whole 5 minutes!

southern151 01-22-2011 09:56 PM

A 78 model truck was your first vehicle? What, you didn't start driving until you were in your 30's?! Hahahahaha!

southern151 01-22-2011 10:00 PM

Yeah, first truck... Most MEN'S first vehicle is a truck! Lol just messin witcha!

Just thought I'd get a "rize" out of ya!

PaulMyers 01-22-2011 10:04 PM

Didn't have cameras back then. Hell, I think I'm older then Corey's dad.

BTW, it was nice meeting him yesterday. Hard to believe he was that sick just a few weeks back.

My first was an 83 S10. Kept it for a long time. Wound up with a 383 stroker in it when all was said and done.

Only owned two cars. One was a Caddi STS with Northstar motor and ported heads and re-machined cams and a blown 96 mustang. Both really fun to drive and equally expensive...in court costs! Lol

I had two cars prior to the truck....a 1963 Ford Falcon and a '71 Darge Charger. The Falcon had a 144 cu. in. slant 6 and the Charger had a 440 Magnum. I had to drive the Darge in reverse for awhile just to get used to it. I finally saved up enough money to buy my dream truck.

My first truck was an isuzu as well, 86 model I think and silver with mud tires, it had 150,000 miles on it when my dad gave it to me. It was hard for me to get on the intersate as the truck would top out at 65 mph. I got the truck and a job at a pizza place washing dishes on the same day. To this day I still hate washing dishes.

Good times.

FF_T_Warren 01-22-2011 10:08 PM

Mine was a 97 S10. ragged the crap outta that sucker. Im surprised it ran as good as it did. Me and my buddy was just laughing yesterday about all the junk we put that truck through

Casey, they got dishwashers now. ;)

southern151 01-22-2011 10:11 PM

Now, that Charger with the 440 is instant exemption from all guys should have to own a truck rules! Did it have the 6 pack carbs? That thing would be worth way more than the Ford if so!

Mine was an Isuzu too, 88 or 89, given to me by my dad. Had 205,000 miles on it when i got it. I think i got it to about 225,000 before i saved enough for a new truck and then gave it back to him and was sold for about $500. Had to take it over the 210 bridge every week for work:help:, i was at about 35mph at the top.

Salty 01-22-2011 10:15 PM

Damn, what's up with Isuzu?

LPfishnTIM 01-22-2011 10:16 PM

yeah mine topped out at 85 going down the overpasses on the interstate after it struggled to going up the overpass! I got it up to 105mph in Missouri going down a really long steep hill, which was the longest most uncomfortable trip I have ever taken. mine was silver 2 wheel drive.

southern151 01-22-2011 10:17 PM

Well, you had a mullet and now, you are "won!" we're talking vehicles not bad haircuts and white bucket fishing!

Corey, I never broke it down to see. I do know that sucker would haul azz. I let a buddy drive it just to see how fast. He said he could have hid the needle.

I got a pic somewhere...if I can find it.

LPfishnTIM 01-22-2011 10:19 PM

The reason he ain't postin' about his truck........he couldn't get his drivers license until he was 28 years-old. The state of Louisiana says you have to be 5' tall in order to be licensed. They took that law off the books 5 years ago.

I owned a Power Wagon and several other 4 wheelers but you couldn't put 'em in an envelope and mail 'em where that Ford would geaux. I never abused it but it would geaux through some bad stuff. My wife always said that truck was the only reason she married me.

I used to drive my F-150 to Sooner games. Even tho gas prices were around $1.00 per gallon......it still cost me a wad....5-6 mpg.
