I'd love to see one on the lake. I think they could really catch on here. You thinking of gettin' one? I thought about it, but I just went with the 24 High Output again. Just my 0.02 cents...

cajunhntr03 03-21-2011 08:06 PM

test drove one Liked it Yeah I'm thinking of getting one

I think it would be one hell of a guide boat. Plenty of room. 9 foot wide and close to 25 feet of boat. That's a lot of fishing room. If you get one, I'd like to test drive it. Like I said, those boats could really catch on here.

Shawn Braquet 03-21-2011 08:21 PM

Does it come with a T top? If so you may see W in one before long!!!

cajunhntr03 03-21-2011 08:39 PM

ha prob could get one but no way I would have one on my boat

meaux fishing 03-21-2011 10:58 PM

Ive been wanting to check one of those out... what kind of setup did the one you tested have? How was the weather and how did it handle?

cajunhntr03 03-22-2011 08:27 AM

Did you try it drifting? Does it slap? How is the turning on that big ol' boat? I checked them out on Chris' website. Looks like it's real tall. What motor you gonna go with?

cajunhntr03 03-22-2011 11:36 PM

drifted true with no hull slap Turns on a dime Might get the 225 ProXS

cajunhntr03 03-23-2011 07:07 PM

Really????? Sweet. Watch, you'll have the first on the lake, and they will start showing up. Mark my word.

No doubt!! What size fuel tank they put on that bad boy? Should be a sweet lil offshore boat as well. What motor you end up with and predicted top speed?

Dink 03-24-2011 08:15 AM

If I see it on the lake, there will be a hostile take over of it........

Just so I can take a ride in it.....ill bring it back.......

Then again. Pretty sure I wont be able to catch him to take the boat .....

.

jchief 03-24-2011 09:09 AM

Holla when it comes in and lets go fishin!!!

meaux fishing 03-24-2011 09:12 AM

If you dont mind could you tell me what it cost you?

mikedatiger 03-24-2011 10:04 AM

I looked at the Cat at the Houston Fishing Show and that boat is sweet! Does it come with its own zip code? I've heard they can do just about everything - i.e. run shallow and take the chop.

Congrats!

I have own plenty of boats from flats boats to skiffs to bay boats some high quality some
not so high quality can someone explain to me how can you spend 40,000.00 to 50,0000 dollars on a rolled edge boat not saying it is a bad boat, I am fishing out of a rolled edge boat now, after looking over the haynie I see the boat is made good and apparently take a lot of HP and go real fast but between the fit and finish and hardware I could never spend that kind of money on one. I do understand you can customize your layout deck
size etc. thats worth some extra money.

Kinda fully custom. You don't get to design the hull. Just the topsides.

offshore ag 03-25-2011 09:05 AM

when you are designing the boat with chris, he will give you a price for each and every option you choose, starting with the hull and adding motor, jack plate, hyd steering, gps, trolling motor, custom seats, cleats, radio, vhf, etc...

in the end, i didn't feel like i was paying an unreasonable price for any single line item.

fit and finish may not be that of a yellowfin, but it is very well done. all consoles are glassed to the floor, all wiring is clean and accessible.

plus, the customer service can't be beat.

8. Every one on big lake trades in their perfectly good
BlackJacks for one!

Wide Open 03-25-2011 10:30 AM

9. Most 21-22ft bay boats with Deuce and 1/4's barely touch 60mph, but Haynies's do 65 and better

PUREBAY2200 03-25-2011 11:14 AM

I didn't know that Haynies were all wood...... I had considered them and do like the boats. But that $$$$$ for a boat made of wood and then covered with fiberglass...... No way.
For that money I'll get a 240 triton and have 10k left over.

Wide Open 03-25-2011 11:27 AM

But PureBay, It's not a HAYNIE!

Wide Open 03-25-2011 11:35 AM

According to the man on their home page, "It's gotta be a HAYNIE BEST boat on the water"

flat coming out of the hole, fast, smooth in the chop, solid, dry

look at the cost of electronics/jackplates/engines/trailers and add it up

the z21 model starts at 12500, you could order the hardware online and install it yourself and save some $$$$$$$$$$$

cmdrost 03-25-2011 11:59 AM

Haynie is great boat! But has the fad of the "hot" boat on the market right now.....getting that price for rolled edge boats is amazing. More power to Chris for making a good product. The cost of new engines is getting out of hand too. So those 2 mixed together make for some steep prices.

And that is of utmost importance.

I'd much rather have a Triton or Blackjack.

bayouchub 03-25-2011 12:16 PM

Would I rather have a roll gunnel with plastic cleats and do "65" or a finished liner boat and do 60? Hmmm......

LaAngler 03-25-2011 12:25 PM

that's the beauty of the free market, it drives innovation
