What's everybody using for truck, nightstand, and carry guns???

I have fallen in love with glocks for a number of reasons.

I am looking at getting a G29 soon, anybody a fan of 10mm?

any 1911 or wheel gun fans here?

here's my 10mm "short"

coachlaw 05-07-2009 11:22 PM

I keep a little Bersa Thunder .380 in my dry box on the boat. Lots of coyotes and raccoons around the camp. It's compact and fits in there just fine. When I'm at the range, which hasn't been often, I like my Springfield 1911.

yak'em-n-stack'em 05-08-2009 12:11 AM

I have always been a Browning fanatic.... I will buy anything that has a browning emblem on it. I have a pretty good collection of browning guns and clothes, poker sets, stickers, ect....

As far as pistols go, I carry a Browning High Power s&w.40 cal. (signature series). Its a 1911 model single action auto. I carry it everywhere. Law enforcement, Undercover, and buisness trips. I dont have a personal picture of it, but here is a picture from the net...

I live by the words of Ted Nugent (Uncle Ted).... "I dont like repete offenders... I like DEAD offenders!!

Dead Shrimp 05-08-2009 11:55 AM

I recently bought a Glock 23 and I love it. If i could afford it I would buy a desert eagle just to say I have one.

ROOSTER 05-08-2009 05:22 PM

It's hard to beat a Browning HighPower.

fishinpox 05-08-2009 05:52 PM

glock 23! wont carry anything else

coachlaw 05-08-2009 06:06 PM

I had a Browning HP in .40 and I did indeed love it. I had to sell it to help buy my boat though :( You gotta be a man to rack the slide on one of those. Talk about stiff!

This is my first post...Nice place you guys have got here!! My nightstand gun is a sig 2430 .40. Shoots real nice too!!

Snap Draggin 05-08-2009 07:29 PM

Nothing but .45's. I have three of them. One is a 70's Series SS Colt Commander. One is a Para Ordnance P-13-45, and the other a Taurus Millenium. The last one is my concealed carry weapon of choice. It is very compact and easy to conceal. Not to mention the whopper stopper effect of a .45ACP.

I have two of those strategically placed in the house. You gotta try to miss with one of those! I thought we were talking about concealed carry weapons.

ROOSTER 05-08-2009 10:34 PM

Yea why mess with anything else other than a 45? like i said i've got a few,my combat elite is nice ,but i think Springfeild Armory makes a slite better weapon.

Budfish 05-09-2009 03:42 AM

I have a Taurus PT22LR near the bed and a 12 gauge close by, and a TAURUS PT24/7 PRO .45 ACP (with 2 mags loaded with 12 rounds of Federal Premium Hydrashocks each) that goes with me wherever I go, and comes in the house with me when I am home. And I keep plenty of extra ammo on hand!!!

i love the classic look and feel, had a colt series 70 but sold it, it never jammed but when it comes to eating hollow points and cheap ammo it's hard to beat the plastic pistola. i guess in a SHFT situation i'd rather my 16 rounds of .40 cal thru the glock......

but for a range piece it's hard to beat a 1911 trigger....

i think this gun is cool for the money, sights suck tho

coachlaw 05-13-2009 04:36 PM

I've got the Mil-Spec Springfield. Performs great out of the box. I modified it with a beavertail grip safety, which it really did need for me. 1911's like to bite the web of my hand. I've got a 1943 Ithica and the Springfield works just as good as the WWII USGI, but better in that it eats hollowpoint ammo. I would without hesitation buy another. Mine has only had one FTF and that was due to cheapo reloads. No jams, no stovepipes. I like the sights though, probably since I'm not used to really good sights and I don't know any better. They say ignorance is bliss. :D The price is right for these and they are good pistols.

Notice LSUh20fowler has short barrell pistols....there is a reason for that...anything longer in a holster on his hip would drag the ground...LOL I had to man...sorry.
