trying to get to monterey 04-13-2011 12:21 PM

2.50 a pound, really nice. 2.25 for mix to small

ShadMan 04-13-2011 12:23 PM

$2.00 - $2.25 in Houston for nice ones right now. Bought a bunch of large/selects for $2.50 two weeks ago, but that was because I didn't buy an entire bag. I think they were $2.19/lb for a full bag.

mallard matt 04-13-2011 12:32 PM

Im looking for a little closer to lafayette

Raymond 04-13-2011 12:35 PM

Paid $1.57/# last month but had to run the traps. $2.00/# is pretty reasonable for large.

T-Red 04-13-2011 12:37 PM

maxi mart in abbeville had them for 2.00 pound medium/ straight run was 45 a sack, we got mediums for 70 a sack and they were nice

If you want to try Lake Arthur Seafood or Cody's in Lake Arthur. LASF was $1.75 a pound Friday, for a very good mix. Mostly large(not huge but good large crawfish)and Cody's was $2, normally has XL crawfish.

I have found that most places in baton rouge only deviate about .15 a pound. Unless you have a friend that works at a place in town, they are just about the same price. Just what I have found. I only know because I do weekly price checks for my company.

thats good to know, I'm wanting to buy some soon, I don't mind going a little distance for a deal, or better handling of seafood and meats.

Montalbano's on fla or Sammys in Central are your best bets if you live in Watson. there are individuals that sell in these areas too if you happen to know them... I, personally, like spillway crawfish (south of bayou pigeon.. learned that the hard way this past weekend) and Tony's is going to be your best chance at getting those... or from one of those individuals im talking about

eta: BR seafood sucks in general. Tonys is the only decent place that you can count on to be consistent.. which is why it thrives in the location its in. I honestly HATE buying crawfish in BR. Ive been spoiled with Belle River crawfish my entire life

Gerald 04-19-2011 11:05 PM

Easter Weekend is always the busys weekend of the year and crawfish are usually hard to find. The price of crawfish usually drops fast afterwards.

If you could wait another week...... the price and supply will be much better.

swamp snorkler 04-20-2011 04:37 AM

I been paying $60 for a 35lb+ sack of wild crawfish from a local guy in Lockport.

joshdomingue 04-20-2011 10:39 AM
