Congrats Austin, I think you'll love it out there. always get the window seat and keep your eye's on the life raft. Don't pull the cord till your out of the chopper.(A big one to remember.) Good luck with your new job. I enjoyed off shore while I was there, would have stayed, but the wife didn't like it.

Best advice yet!!!!!!!!!! I worked for island for 15yrs. Good people there. There's alot of a holes out there, but take everything with a grain of salt, and once you get a few years under your belt, you'll know how to deal with them, and if you need help with anything, let me know. Congrats again.

Just remember your the new guy and they will Mess w/ you just to see if you can take it. Stand up for yourself but do it w/ a smile. If you let them get under your skin you'll never last .

Offshore now is not as bad as it was 20 or so years ago.
Too many lawsuits, can't even hand Snap-On calendars anymore.

It's not bad, if you can take the days away from home.
Been doing it for over 26 years. Love the days off, like the money.
The longer you stay, the easier it gets and the more money you make.
My pay about doubles every 7 years or so.

And it is easier if you are on a platform with just a few people.
I find the more people, the more crap you have to put up with.
