worst mexican food in Lake Chuck

AVOID AVOID AVOID the Taco Taqueria near Outback. It is in the old Backyard Burger building. Stopped by this evening in the drive through. Should have known it was bad since there were ZERO cars in the parking lot at 7 pm. Ordered 3 flour soft tacos with Biztec meat. Other choices include fajita meat, tripe and sweet bread (whatever that is). No ground meat on the menu. Tacos came with meat, raw onions and cilantro. NO cheese, no sour cream, no tomatoes. Very bland like the meat was boiled and chopped up.

I will NEVER be back and warn all of you to avoid this place like Osama tried to avoit a bullet! ! !

I think you may be used to AMERICAN tacos. I went to Mexico once and had tacos off the street and they didn't have much on them.

fishinpox 05-03-2011 08:52 PM

U got straight up Mexican food not Tex Mex .....u shoulda got the tripe lok

ScubaLatt 05-03-2011 09:06 PM

I really like authentic mexican food. Actually prefer it over tex mex. But this was not close to what I have had in mexico, belize and beaumont (little mexico).

SaltyShaw 05-03-2011 09:20 PM

Lake Chuck Duck 05-04-2011 06:12 AM

Yeah that taco place is absolute GARBAGE! The wife and I stopped there to try it out on our way to the movie theater. I was so absolutely pissed off at how terrible it was, I didnt calm down till about half way through the movie. I still bring it up from time to time.

Corner of broad and enterprise=auth. mex=good turd, try for youself.....lol.

ScubaLatt 05-04-2011 08:40 AM

Also on Broad Street is another authentic taco joint called Victorias Taqueria. The owners used to be at the Exxon on the corner but opened their own place. Awesome!

I have had good expereinces at Tequilas by Academy. Not bad for a buffet.

Super Spook 05-04-2011 10:23 AM

El Tapatio (Authenic) best in LC and Coyote Blues (tex-cajun-mex) is not far behind.

Ok, now the best mexican food in Moss Bluff is Fiesta Tamale on the West side of town. Their covered burritos and enchiladas are awesome! It's how I celebrated Cinco de Mayo tonight!

not good to hear, that use to be the bomb and sharing it the next day was just as good:rolleyes:

Ray 05-08-2011 07:55 PM

I have eaten food from several different areas of Mexico and have not found anything down there like they serve up here.
Most places I ate at in Mexico have grilled food and fresh veggys and fruits. No rice and refried beans with every meal like here.
The old Pizza Hut place on Hwy 14 is pretty dang good.
