Topwater baits most popular

What are you guys using for topwater baits? I know mirror lure is popular but what models and colors are the best? Or are their better top waters?

Bone Holograph

My go-to bait. Bone Holograph Super Spook is pretty much all I throw for topwater. Unless the water looks really dirty, I'll throw a black one.

SaltyShaw 05-11-2011 12:37 PM

Good stuff

I shall put em to the test tomorrow if the winds permit. Red Head/white body also a good one.

Saw one of these at Wal Mart the other day and picked one up after hearing mstulb and some other guys talking about them on the last topwater thread on here. Haven't tried it yet though. I have never fished a chug bug for trout. Anyone have any special techniques for working this bait??

eman 05-12-2011 10:02 AM

Chug bug = pop an stop. pop pop let it sit and i wont give away the real secret to catching trout on one.

Yo Eman,
You're a witness to some of those Chug Bug Trout. Ask Bone bout the ones caught on em in the surf @ Fourchon throwing in the mullet schools. BIG Sows!!

Anybody try those H20 walkers that Academy's been having on sale? I picked up a clown one for $2.99. I'll have to give it a shot when this wind lays.

I haven't caught on the h2o express walker yet, but its really easy to work and can cast it for days.
