Any Shimanos around here for sale like this??

http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/liquidation.html

Chronarch 278$
Curado 200 139$
Curado 50 159$
Citica 99$

I know academy was selling the Curado 200 for this price... are the 50's this price as well???

Salty 06-02-2011 02:48 PM

Sweet lil reel. It's a cheaper version of the Core but with an aluminum frame.

fishinpox 06-02-2011 02:51 PM

Curado 50 is 199 @ academy

Salty 06-02-2011 02:53 PM

Much rather have the Chronie for $80 more.

159$ is a pretty good steal. I recently had to take my curado 200 in for repair. puppy was squealing like a stuck pig (after they cleaned and repaired it???:pissed::pissed:) You bet i was furious. I am debating on buying one or waiting for the new ones to come out.

I did the same when kayaking and trying to take a rattltrap outta a reds mouth... but it only lasted soo long. i still thnk i was raped on the cleaning/repairing part... I mean come on the reel still had dirt on the outside and one piece was loose as all get out.

Yea, Ron does an awesome job. Took some reels to him last year and he fixed 'em up perfect!

SaltERedneck 06-02-2011 03:18 PM

Is he outta Bell City?? Usually the guys i take it to are on the ball. It may be me expecting more... I mean i know its not gonna be brand new and sound perfect but this thing was a burden to listen to.

Yea that's him, across from the school. I had an older Ambassador that would make 10 kinds of racket when I cast, took it to him and 2 days later I picked it up and it was like brand new. He took it completely apart, cleaned it, changed a part and I think it was like $20.

man thats a sweet little bargain. its a trip out there but i got 3 reels that need some maintenance soo it might be worth it... hopefully they do that for this reel since i am bringing it back to them

bayouchub 06-02-2011 03:32 PM

Y not take it back to lct and let them fix it since that is what you paid for???

SaltERedneck 06-02-2011 03:34 PM

taking it back tomorrow when i have time. inconvenience since i will be fishing this weekend short a curado.

Jordan 06-02-2011 03:37 PM

Pm Reelman. I think he charged $20 + parts. I sent him mine on a Monday and i got them back the same week (friday)..... like new.

Jedi Lure Tricks 06-03-2011 09:44 AM

just to let y'all know.. we have reel repair at the tackle box in sulphur. he charges $20 for cleaning, and parts on top of that. i rarely get complaints and if we do, he will fix it fast w/ no charge, of course. he also offers a bearing upgrade for shimano reels. i had him do an old cu200bsf that i couldnt bear to part with.. thing casts better than it ever did.

he does a $40 upgrade and a 100 upgrade on curados. 4o is replace 4 bearings and the 100 is all bearings and a micro-polish on the gears to remove factory burrs. they come out smooth as butta.

Ron's will be my only choice . When I had foot surgery this year I had brought sum reels to him believe this or not he delievered them to my house at no extra charge. the repairs and parts charge were very minamal. He is full of very useful knowledge about rod and reel equipement the things we would most likely never find out unless having a heipful aid like him.Sorry locals' it should not always be about the$$$$$.

Ray 06-04-2011 04:10 PM

Mr. Ron Ardoin does a great job.
He does the cleaning, polishing and buffing for $40.
Regular cleaning is $20.
He does more too, but I don't think it's worth the money.
I throw a lot farther than new out of the box, just with
the $20 cleaning.
