choupique
Anyone go any recipes? Caught one about 18in long yesterday on one of my just lines. Thinking about making choupique balls. Maybe in a red gravy or a spaghetti. Any thoughts?

ground up, mix with mustard and with some corn meal and fry! drown it with ketchup and tiger sauce and you won't be able to taste the funk! I hear the eggs could be worth some money, they have tons of eggs in the spring.

Man, made it up like I would garfish patties and just took my fist sample. Its pretty damn good! Bout to crack open the first beer of the night and enjoy some choupique patties!
yeah after about 6 or 7 beers, do you really want his opinion anyway!
I have tried them several ways.
Best way I tried was fried patty, kinda like a garfish patty, with some gravy on top. Still didn't care for it much. Them and Mullet are about the only fish I have tried that I don't care for. |

They eat better than hard heads but not quite as good as tuna...IMO I'd eat it before alot of other stuff
I have eaten them cooked in a red gravy.....We would cut the tail off and let them bleed out then cook it with alot of onions, red pepper, and a little tomato sauce....It was some good grub.:)
If Ray doesn't eat it, I would stay away... That guy eats everything!!
I dont even like bringin those things into my boat, all prehistoric lookin. Those fish freak me out.
