My parents have a 76 vette with the original 350. but (there's always a but) it hasn't ran since 95 when we moved. I would like to have it restored one day. I'll probably check fluids in it and hook up a gas line and a new battery and see if it'll at least turn over for the first time in 16 years.

skinman 06-05-2011 11:02 PM

Just got a 2011 2SS RS Camaro. It's not an oldie, but it is my first muscle car. That thing is a BEAST! 400 HP stock. Just waiting for Flowmater to release a system for it, and then LET THE MODS BEGIN!!

iron man 06-05-2011 11:05 PM

Speaking of muscle cars, anyone ever saw that show on Discovery that fixes up old cars? Desert Car Kings I believe? I can't stop laughing at that roided up 40 year old. They do some pretty good stuff though.

Chevy is my favorite but like you, I also like them all. They don't make anything like they used too, that's for sure. Nothing "classic" about todays cars/trucks.

He didn't race at state capital. I think there might have just been a strip where no problem is if I remember him telling me right. He used to run at the old strip in laplace and i think the old one in pville. That old comet could run pretty quickly the only car that beat him was a Chevelle with a 502. So he sold it the night after he got beat and bought the 76 corvette.

This is exactly like my dads old comet. It had the 302 with 650 Holley Double Pump Four Barrel Carb with a Isky cam, Headman headers. Fastet it ever ran was 13.20 with street tires and street legal mufflers in LaPlace. 72 Comet. 2480 pounds of nothing but a wind sounding muffler.
