We never got within a 100 yrds of another boat fishing or running. I don't think yall are taking about us, but whatever. And yes i had more than a few beers, is there a problem with that? And they said the fish was 5.2lbs, after sitting n ice chest since 630am. I dont know what the problem is, nor do i really care. I think there is a little confusion or people are just haters. Either way i dont care. I have been fishing the lake for almost 20 yrs, and have seen it all, i know how to respect other people who are fishing, and u will never catch me, running up to a boat, and asking "yall doing anygood". This is funny and yall make me laugh.

I have a problem with someone drinking and driving on the water. Just as bad or worse than on land with the same penalties. I like to drink a few cold ones, but not driving.

fishinpox 06-06-2011 05:29 PM

And yellow and blue are Michigan wolverines colors..... I hate that school up north !!

McCain 06-06-2011 07:48 PM

yes it has a T top

southern151 06-06-2011 08:08 PM

Ya gotta understand the logic of some here...If it has a t-top, not cool... If you come within 3 lakes of a Haynie, inconsiderate... If you catch less than a limit of 12-14" trout...you're a "pilgram"!

Stupid really be welcome to the small "richards" reality!

flounder_smacker 06-06-2011 09:08 PM

next time im on the lake im going around with a video camera and an air boat and pulling up to everyone without a t-top asking how they doing.

southern151 06-06-2011 09:09 PM

Someone needs an aquarium at home so they can truly own their own fishing hole!

BossHog 06-06-2011 09:10 PM

This could get good if people take pics

I highly encourage people to take pics of all pilgrims

flounder_smacker 06-06-2011 09:16 PM

i guess people just don't realize that's its one boat per reef???? shouldnt there be a big lake rule book somewhere?

BIGJ 06-06-2011 09:21 PM

The lake has just gotten to crowded with boats. Its only going to get worse. Everyone will just have to deal with it. Its a public lake. There are only so many places to fish in there.

This is sad,but true. With cypremort point area messed up from the high river there is alot of people fishing big lake. That is is a big crowd without the help of the local crowd and people coming from texas. I don't mind sharing a spot, but if I can cast into your boat you too close!

Micah 06-06-2011 09:29 PM

The internet was the worst thing to happen to fishing.

I'd say thats a little too close. If someone gets that close we'll have to have a talk.

There's plenty of places to fish just people look for the easy way

Salty 06-06-2011 09:33 PM

Just face...."Big" Lake ain't very big. That is the reason there is so many idiots and so much fishing pressure over there. There isn't necessarily more people fishing from Baton Rouge west to the state line than from Baton Rouge to the state line east. It's just that there's more inland water this way.

What part? Im assuming the same penalties on water as on land? Yes you will loose your driving rights for a year if your over the legal limit. Game wardens carry the testers on there boat.

Wide Open 06-06-2011 09:39 PM

The Internet has taken a lot of the sport out of it, and the amount of boats on the water today is amazing! Im 30 now, and have been on the water and in the woods since I was Sh###ing green, and never as a kid do I remember this volume of people hunting and fishing. It is, what it is, and its something were gonna deal with reguardless.

BIGJ 06-06-2011 09:44 PM

I fished Big Lake throughout the 90's with very few boats compared to now and caught alot more fish back then also.

mstulb 06-06-2011 09:57 PM

There have always been alot of boats on the lake on 1.Weekends 2. Calm Days 3. Summer Months

Sometimes I am only able to fish on weekends and it drives me crazy! Boats fish boats on big lake.

I do remember the shootout having hundreds of boats on the Lake more than recent.
