6-6-11 Big Lake....What a Day!!
 

I took a buddy of mine and his dad fishing today and the first spot we stopped at it was on! Awesome morning and trout bite, everything was caught on Glow/Chart seemed to be the only color they wanted today. Chunked Tidal Surge Split tails to start it off, the bite kinda died tried a bayou chub and it was back on again! Ended the day with our limit of trout with 25-30 throw backs.
Here is were it gets interesting, we were messing around and I was looking at all the crab traps looking to see if I could run across some of these triple tail, found a few and I was able to land my first triple tail! Headed to cal point weather got bad stopped at Heberts and waited it out to make a long story short I had to help a guy cut a tree out of the road and my boat almost sank!

I wasn't being sarcastic, dude. I've seen references of tripletail to crab pots and was just wonderin' what the relation was or if it's a joke.

I know I'm sorry hoss I didn't mean it in a rude way, I just heard about the hanging out by crab traps and big bouys and I started paying a little closer attention to them and I found em. Not sure on how these triple tails operate but wouldn't mind landing some mo'

Hell yeah dude! I still have not caught a triple tail all these years of fishing! Glad yall got out the water,that was some bad weather...saw it on the radar.

Thanks man and yeh it was hectic for a minute in the rain with the bilge pumping and me bailing with a bucket haha!

salty the triple tail will hang around anything floating ie. crab pots, buoys, grass, boards, anything thats floating willl hold some tail

I'm gonna be looking for them suckers alot now lol, how long they usually hang around for?

beats me, i think they lay flat to look like the float so bait swims by thinking nothing of it then boom they got dinner(just my .02 though I have been wrong before once:smokin:)
