W saves Chicken

2 Attachment(s)
W, Chris R and Josh came to our rescue today. While fishing with my family my Verdao lower unit decided to go out for no apparent reason. I was running 40 mph and it just stopped suddenly. Welcome to the Verado family I suppose, only 35 hours on the motor.

These three guys saved the day and ruined their own day of fishing. I am very grateful to say the least. It was an exciting four hour ride back to the camp.

It turns out W had enough Freeboard to pull me in and a Haynie pulled a Haynie today.

W even reached 6 foot tall in one photo.

I saw Josh was going g on a rescue mission.......we all thought W had run out of gas again!!??

Sorry to hear about your motor......guess it can happen at any time?

boatdriver 06-13-2011 07:58 PM

Oh what a day that must have been!!! That's a long ride chicken. Good thing for people like Jeremy. To stop catching fish to go help a friend. I think the house "Chicken" should give him 100 salty bucks!!!

BayBolt23 06-13-2011 08:00 PM

I know Chicken feels much better knowin' that.

LPfishnTIM 06-13-2011 08:29 PM

I've seen pictures of people's lower units with holes big enough to put a golf ball thru all on 225 mercs. I know 2 people with the optimax that have had to replace there lower units.

Not picking on the man. He stated from the beginning that he wanted that yammie but got a real good deal on the merc. Then he said the other day that his motor sucks the hell out of fuel, he also mentioned that he would be getting yammie next year. Not trying to kick the boss while he's down.

Anyone else notice W is standing on the bench to see?
Teasing. Thats what I like about us, we'll help each other out in a bind no matter what.

Ray 06-13-2011 10:05 PM

If everyone got in the towing boat, picked up the motor on the towed boat, hooked the tow line to where the trailer winch hooks, you can haul butt.

We had all of those factors except the most important one which was the people in the towing boat. Good note for next time although I hope there is not a next time.

Does not matter, unless you have a HINEY it will not handle the offshore waters (FREEBOARD); in turn, most of us own those other boats!

btw, good job W....

I got pulled in by W once...

simplepeddler 06-14-2011 02:17 PM

I would have helped............but I was too busy fishing "other" people's birds and running between them and the bank and between the fisher and the fish.

It's an important job on Big Lake........someone has to do it.

LOL

Great Job guys.........can't tell you how many people we've pulled in over the years!

mriguy 06-14-2011 06:23 PM
