They used to live next door and I'll have to look at the card to see which one it is.

I have big parts of the Bend missing also. Mine is pretty much useless on Big Lake. But, I think mine is a 2009 issue. I was told the 2010 or 11 would have Big Lake on it.

I do love the chip. My Lake Insight on my Lowrance shows the road beds on Toledo where the Navionice does not.

TOLEDO BEND does have issues but if you look at the outline of the South Region chip you can see that it is not really good for the lake at all. Doesn't make since but that's the way it shows on their website. Now on Big Lake the chip is great. I got my chip late last summer. I'll have to look and see what year/version it is.

I think we got you beat there!

We've had 5 cars in our ditch since we built this house. All have been single car/truck accidents. But in their defense, there is only a 4" shoulder then down 4 feet. If you get off at all, you're in trouble.

inchspinner 06-21-2011 04:08 PM

I might have weedeater beat I had one hit my mail box one night put up a new one hit it the next, one in the front ditch and one hit tel. pole, and the last dwi flew into the east ditch and said he hit a racoon, I went out there at like 2am, had a fire buddy working it and there was no racoon anywheres....lol...crazy people think this is the qualifier for the DAYTONA 500...lol...You get the boat home MR. P.

inchspinner 06-21-2011 04:10 PM

Weedeater saw a fox run into those woods one morning picking up a buddy that lives at the west end of tomahawk...big one too...

That DWI was by your house? That was some funny stuff on the news. Hahaha

inchspinner 06-21-2011 04:53 PM

Yea, they all seem to happen by me...lol..Im way off the road so they have to get through those BIG DITCHES..lol.

weedeater 06-21-2011 05:12 PM

well not alot of wrecks but they like to fly; cops, school buses, parents goin to get school kids and high school kids doin over 60 down the road and then the ones that drive through the ditches.

I have alot of fox behind my house, your buddy must live real close to me. I think there is 4 houses on the south side west end then the woods and I am the only house with woods on botth sides

inchspinner 06-21-2011 05:19 PM

hes on the north side had his house for sale with centur 21, took it down...has a tan siverado and wifes escalade...

Montauk17 06-21-2011 05:23 PM

Sounds like my road....speed limit is 35 with no stop signs for almost a mile. Some people easily hit 70 mph....idiots. Had two morons that work for a car lot right up the road decide they would do a lil race in customers cars. One ended up going in the ditch and coming up the other side getting enough air to hit the power pole 10 foot up the pole and land on the roof! It is pretty safe to say he got fired....

I've got the Navionics chip in my Humminbird 786ci. I love it. I don't think it is completely necessary for Big Lake, but it sure makes my GPS display purdy. I have benefitted from it though and I recommend it to anyone who is willing to pay the price tag for it. It is very accurate and helps with navigation moreso than fishing, but I was surprised to find a couple new fishing holes with it. Pretty cool little chip. Has great detail for the inland bays and waterways along the gulf coast.

meaux fishing 06-22-2011 12:20 AM

My lowrance in the Triton doesnt have as much detail as my garmin did. Will this chip give me better detail of the marsh? If not do the new HDS units have better detail of the marsh? I thought about just installing the garmin in the new boat but that is alot of trouble... Somebody :help:

skeeter77346 06-22-2011 08:53 AM

I had the Nav P+ chip in my HDS 10 - fantastic combo!
Extremely clear 'google earth' marsh detail was what did it for me v other brands.
I have the same chip in a Raymarine C90W (was on the boat when I got it) and it is not as clearly detailed on the google earth images as the HDS 10.

The Navionics chip is going to give you more detail than most, if not all of the base maps of any brand GPS unit you buy (I can't speak for the HDS series though bc I haven't gotten to play around with one too much yet). Some units are more capable than others and provide more detail when used in conjunction with the chip. I haven't been on the water with any Google Earth maps, but that sounds pretty cool. I have been very pleased with the accuracy of the Navionics chip in my 786ci though.
